I missed the opening band. I heard it was WIL, and I heard they are a two piece, and I heard they are very good. Gotta stop showing up late.
54-40, once again big Canadian talent, small Victoria venue. Very cool. All their songs are hit songs. They could have,IMO, played more of their new stuff(yes they have new stuff), but the crowd was into the hits. Basically, a good party. I went alone, but I found myself dancing with the whole crowd to "Love To Love Ya Baby". It was fun.
The bar had a single malt, but holy crap, $7.75 a pop! Yikes. Still I drank enough to decide against driving. I phoned "DIAL A DRIVER" for the first time. I just have to say, this is an excellent service. For slightly more than cab fare, they came and picked me up and drove me and my car home. VRY COOL. DIAL A DRIVER 213-2901, seriously, program that number into your cell phone.

Yeah, they were a good band. I liked their very early stuff a lot "Little child did you know that there's a light, And it's gonna shine right through your eyes, What do you think that life is like" and didn't like their later songs. Then I saw them when I was invited to a show and heard some (even newer stuff?) live and was really pleased. That was eons ago though. Cool that they played a small venue, I'm surprised. Don't think they'd consider doing that here so it means local fans don't ever get to see them again unless they can shell out the coin and don't mind big crowds.

That dial a driver thing sounds wicked.. got more info? I did a search and couldn't find a local website. - Sat, 4 Nov 2006 2:55pm Edited: Sat, 4 Nov 2006 2:58pm

Nope, not Oban, just regular Glenlivet. I shouldn't complain, I once paid $35 for an ounce and a half of Macallen 1841 replica, and $25 for a generous pouring of Macallen 25yr old. But that was more like the LSD of scotch.

I have no other info on DIALADRIVER other than the phone number. 2502132901. - Sat, 4 Nov 2006 4:47pm Edited: Sat, 4 Nov 2006 4:47pm
