That tune they have on the radio that starts out with the drums kick some ass. Makes me actually want to go out and buy the album. Cheers Lucius - Sun, 27 Aug 2006 7:12pm

GG, novelty and theatrics aside, fuckin' sucks. Some of the stuff with the Murder Junkies is pretty good, but musically, it can't hold a candle to this new album. They've grown as a band, and have broken down walls that have previously been broken down before, only now they have been broken down with an awesome studio sound and budget. - Mon, 28 Aug 2006 12:00am

I really like Alexisonfire. Actually, I love Alexisonfire, but their new album sounds like Everytime I die. If you like the new AOF, you'll like Everytime I die. When George screams "Your mail's not safe in this town" in "Mailbox Arson", it sounds just like "I know the stripper's real name" in "Kill the music" by Everytime I die. Anyways, I really do like Alexisonfire, they're one of my top favourite bands. They just rock live, I mean it, they put on a great show. I can't wait to see them again on Oct.4th and perhaps meet them all again. I just saw City and Colour and that rocked too. It was cool that Wade was there as well. But yeah I guess now's the time to recommend Everytime I die to anyone who likes Alexisonfire, they are a bloody good band. Overall, "Watchout" is AOF's best album in my opinion; it'll always be one of my favourite albums, that's for sure. In Crisis, "This could be anywhere in the world" despite being their single and having a music video, is one of my favourite songs on the album. My sister always tells me to shut up because I can't stop singing it anywhere I go. Anyways speaking of the album, I'm gonna go listen to it and then listen to Everytime I die to compare the two...... Wait, not compare.. to enjoy the two is what I mean. Peace. - Mon, 28 Aug 2006 11:33pm Edited: Mon, 28 Aug 2006 11:39pm

I think it is gotta be pretty sad if you CAN'T put out a decent album with that kind of financail budget... Mind you thats what having record lables instead of ethics brings you...
I also think the singers voice sounds like some one is stepping on a gerbal, or maybe an elderly person... - Tue, 29 Aug 2006 1:14am

Kincade play the style of music that Alexisonfire fail to play, I don't get that, and it's funny that a band from Victoria does a better job. - Tue, 29 Aug 2006 1:24am

I love Kincaide but holy shit.....Righhhhhhhhht. As for the Everytime I Die comparison, I see none other than they have a screamer, I have listened to Gutter Phenomenon and it's totally different from what Alexis are doing. Good band but musically they're a different type of hardcore, hard to pin them down. More like a sleezy Southern Rock hardcore band, haha if you could imagine. - Tue, 29 Aug 2006 6:20am Edited: Tue, 29 Aug 2006 6:22am

OK, maybe I got carried away, still.. :) I'd really like to hear a band in Victoria that plays the same style of music as bands like Married To Music and Kincaide play. I'd try to play the style myself but I can't play if my life depended on it. - Tue, 29 Aug 2006 12:38pm Edited: Tue, 29 Aug 2006 12:39pm

It's actually a pretty sweet album. I couldn't enjoy because all I really wanted was another album like their first, which is the best. I now realize that won't happen and I must except new, corny, less angsty alexis. This could be anywhere in the world is my fave. - Sat, 2 Sep 2006 1:28pm

My sister called me upstairs the other day to tell me Alexisonfire was on tv. It disturbed me to see them on MTV but you know that's bound to happen eventually. I didn't even watch it so I don't know if they performed or anything like that. I always thought they'd refrain from being on shows like that. I'm sorry but I can't imagine the usual type of people who watch channels like mtv to be actual fans of, well, screamo and stuff. I like the album a lot but it's nothing compared to their self-titled or watchout. Nothing beats .44 Caliber love letter, nothing. Hey I still have George on my msn.... Anywho I'm still looking forward to going to their concert on the 4th of Oct. It's sad though cuz I bought 2 tickets and no one wants to go with me. I have no friends! Wahhhh. Well, no friends who want to ever go to shows. No one wants to go with me to see theset either. We should have http://www.friendsvictoria.com so everyone can be happy and make some friends yayyyyyyy I'm gonna go make some tea and sip it BY MYSELF thank you very much. Sorry that was off topic. AOF heart heart. Hey anyone got anything to say about their new drummer Jordan? cheers - Sat, 2 Sep 2006 8:14pm

Jordan's a cool dude. he gave us fans to cool off our bus when our air conditioning broke. Oh, and he's one of the few people that can actually tolerate me when im shitfaced. - Sun, 3 Sep 2006 2:19pm

That would be true if they were actually "screamo". - Sun, 3 Sep 2006 3:18pm

My good buddy, Swingin' Joe sent me a couple of new Alex tunes in the last week and I actually dug them. I am attributing their new toleration from non-fans to the lack of overlapping vocals in different styles with different lyrics. That is the worst thing a band can do. Like watching TV while listening to the radio both at peak volume...NO!! Bad shit.
Anyway, glad to see this Canadian band grow up and figure out how to not piss us old timers off. - Sun, 3 Sep 2006 8:02pm

Uhh Nik Olaz what else would I classify them as? Needed to apply them to something. I said "screamo and stuff" anyways because, true, they are not JUST screamo. - Sun, 3 Sep 2006 10:51pm

I really don't know. Maybe aggro-pop. "Screamo" to me is bands like Pg. 99 or Orchid. - Sun, 3 Sep 2006 11:57pm

Sub genres are lame...I just take into consideration that they make really good music. And a band that tours as much as they do, should in fact be selling alot of records or be featured on MTV, as much as that is a faux pas. They worked hard for it, now lets all group hug. - Mon, 4 Sep 2006 12:18am
