Ya they are playing some a.w.t. on a radio station that isnt afiliated with a college for once. Punk-O-Rama, between 11 and 12 tonight if you want to tune in. On a side note fuck did we ever get a slick review for the album in the new georgia straight. I love the fact that because of our song titles I actually get to see a writer write, I Shit My Cunt, in a magazine. It makes me all warm and tingly inside. Oh no wait that's the cancer. - Thu, 22 Jun 2006 5:45pm

True enough, but on top of the review this was in the Georgia Straight as well and this is damn funny.

Last month, the incomprehensible lack of a Mogwai concert review was the equivalent of ripping the head off Lou Reedand for that matter anyone else who has a guitar and a dreamand shitting down his neck. I forgave that. Then you slap me in the face. Either you are asleep at the switch, dead, or maybe just ignorant; any of these possibilities would explain your choice to review some hack [Mike Jones] at Plush instead of the Walkmen show last Friday. The Walkmen nailed their set, so perhaps next time instead of reviewing another apolitical consumer-whore rapper you should review something with substance.

> Jordan Matthieu

Mike Usinger replies: Dearest JordanId love to review every show that comes through town, talk to any touring band willing to pick up the phone, and review every record released in North America. Sadly, though, I have space constraints. Im lucky most weeks if I get the chance to trumpet the brilliance of songs like I Shit My Cunt by Alcoholic White Trash, which, infuriatingly, has been stuck in my head for 13 days now. Do you know how maddening it is to be sitting in church on a sunny Sunday morning with a gravel-voice crusty-punk yelling I shit my cunt and I dont care/Ill wipe from back to front with your grandmas underwear on an endless tape loop in your brain? How in the hell did Alcoholic White Trash think up something so clearly impossible in the first place? Were they sitting around loaded on Pilsner thinking of crazy things to shit? Pants are obviously too easy. Singing about shitting your Depends, meanwhile, is fucking with your karma; thats practically a guarantee that once you get old, you wont be able to get two feet out the door without a chocolate choo-choo poking its way out of the fudge tunnel. While slaving over the lyrics in a band meeting, someone in AWT obviously stood up and belched I knowI shit my cunt!!! Sheer brilliance, it seems, is sometimes a deliriously happy accident. But I digress. The deal is this: touring acts tend to get either a preview or a review, and Mogwai and the Walkmen both got the former. If and when they come back, theyll likely get the latter. In the meantime, may I suggest that this whole matter isnt really worth shitting your cunt over? Oh fuck, the tape loop just started up again. Its going to be a long three hours at church this Sunday.

By the way thank you or a stellar review in Razorcake tyler. Not to worry I mention the Hoosegow in a letter to be read at my funeral, you'll be famous too. - Fri, 23 Jun 2006 10:41pm
