| jeff User Info... | Wow, I thought this was going to be a great show BUT it turned out to be very shitty it was DISORGANIZED,had no door man,and the band that put on the show left when ever they wanted and other shit. What really pisses me off is my band (mind between the lines) was told we were playing 2nd, after the first band played(wayne powerman), artio just decides to go on, not even saying anything to us,then after them the electic heat NEEDED to go on, but we perswaded them to let us go on, we played our set and I left. Another thing my Dad who went to the show had to take care of the money and police the place, thats just fucking retarted, if he wasnt there people could have just walked in without paying or worse taken the money. If wayne powerman ever I mean EVER puts on a show again, get a fucking door man, get someone to look after the place and ORANGIZE THE FUCKING BANDS. | _Griphin_ User Info... | Well I sorta caught this show (I know Jeff's band was just finishing as I showed up :(, and like I told him, a few more month's of practice and a splattering of gigs and the band should sound awesome!!, though I wouldn't mind hearing a gig or actually seeing a gig next time.) I ran into XY-Satan finally, good deal (old skewl rules!!!). All I can say is, man I miss all-drunken-ager's (c'mon people, next time hide your hard liquor instead of putting it where everyone can see it near the front of the hall outside, a jacket pocket works, remember that if the place got busted by the cops the adults in attendance get charged and fined). I dunno, Orange Hall is neat albeit it's more like a front room then a hall (where we're the washrooms?!?). I wasn't into the show, too many kids, and a fight broke out over littering?!? I dunno who that was that started the fight with those kids, I know I got attitude from him when I went to pay my fin to get in, but after hearing what happened I totally understand. Kinda thumbs in the middle over this, but at least the kids had a blast, and that's what matters!!! | littledina User Info... | hey there just wanted to say that well yes it was a BIT ok a LOT unorganized and yes there was a bunch of crap that happened - someone totally forgot about the smoke bomb that some coward decided to throw into the basement of the place quite early in the evening and a whole bunch of kids departed afterwards...thanks to chris (i think that's his name) for sweeping up the mess downstairs...and i must say, well, what do you expect, these are teenagers who are still learning to drink (LOL) and want to have fun...so it seems that most of these kids had some fun last night, i had fun, i was sober, and i'm 34...it was good to see Mind Between The Lines after only listening to you dudes on my MP3 player...and thanks so much Brenda and Lance for taking us home with Jeff's gear...twas fun 4 sure! Life is short guys, make the best of it! These guys are gonna get in toruble with this drug and alchol thing, and then the venues are not gonna let show be put on their. Didnt little fernwood jsut re-open its doors to shows? A bunch of underage kids drinking in the venue, a private smoking room, most of the people being fucked out of their minds? This is jsut reckless and gives the people that run these venues a negative image for the whole all ages scene. I was happy to see wayne powerman. Their lead singer reminds me of the frontman of one of the bands that got me into music as a kid. Thanks for the sticker lol. its on my guitar case. pickles kicked ass. I must find that wolf song lol. atio was good. not really my style, but damn can those kids play their bass and guitar. damn. | darcy User Info... |  I'm sorry I couldn't play or be at the show, but I was shakin' it like a polaroid picture and goin' to the candy shop,..and so forth. Yeah. I'm the 4th? Member of one of two bands getting shit talked: Wayne Powerman. Basically, the main complaints I'm hearing is 1) Drinking and smoking in the venue 2) Troubles with band orders 3) Fights 4) No Door for most, if not all, the show. Now, I wasn't there, but I can pretty much tell you, and explain, most of these actions, and how it was not WP, or any of the bands fault, but the promoters and organizers. About drinking and smoking. Aka: Fuck rockstar wannabes. Yeah, No one from WP smoke just straight up, and no one from WP would ever do it at a venue that would limit us. Was it a tall, stalky, Jimmy Page wannabe looking guy with open booze and smoking inside? Then don't blame it on us. Blame it on the guy who was putting on the show, cause that would be him. About band orders, that is why you e-mail or call bands before the show. Or even just write up a list and stick the fuck to it. I don't know the whole story behind this thing, so I can't comment further. About fights, who was it? I'm not sure who was there or what it was about, but come on guys, don't be a bag of douche and ruin all-ages shows just because your punky or grungy look happens to be your sub-cultural solution that breaks down your contraints of attention or whatever it may be. Just have a good time. No door? Uhm..again, Liam should have definatly done a better job on this one. Yes. Sorry if I asked (in advance) if we could play second, and in the end it wouldnt have mattered because you guys decided to play first. I dont give a shit about not being paid, but it might have been nice. There is a fine line about being paid for gigs and until we are the headliner, or maybe the second to last band, i dont expect anything. Unless some1 gives me reason to expect it? If you are to blame for a venue being lost, you have taken a stab at the victoria music scene where it hurts the most. Venues are expensive and we don't have a ton of cheap, easy to use venues like some other cities do. We have to conserve what we have and treat it nicely. We need the music. If you think you are being "punk rock" by being reckless to the venue of a punk show, you're stupid. The venue is part of what lets you HAVE THE SHOW. You're living by ideals you don't even understand. The music is what fuels it all and you're just TAKING AWAY THE MUSIC by taking away from the dwindling supply of venues in the greater victoria area. You can get drunk and break shit anywhere else, anytime else. Just how hard is it to enjoy a show without causing problems? I'm not saying don't mosh. I'm just saying don't go overboard. don't you get it? you can't have shows there anymore and it is your own fault. I can't put it simpler than that. I know it's not everybody's fault who was involved with the show.
