Take a trip into the cold, bleak, dreary, electric, void of torment and torture known as Miasma's Of the Blood. This solo project, of Transgressor's, is a slow burning trek into a dimension of torment. This blackened, slow paced, suicidal styled music features cold hateful lyrics of dimensional transcension, ghostly revenge, ritualism, misanthropy, and burning hatred. Miasma's Of the Blood is cold ritualistic Black Metal that will feed the hatred of the Darkened Ones.

Of the Blood features eight tracks of cold, distorted hatred that will leave your head spinning as the hatred attacks you from all sides. The album begins with the obscure 'Initiation' ritual that builds atmosphere, ambience, and anticipation for the onslaught of electric hatred that follows. The searing hatred that is called 'Burn' sears the untrue and causes them to cringe away at the pure searing tone of both the harsh distorted guitar and heated vocals. The searing of ‘Burn’ is matched by Transgressor's characteristic heavy groove to bottom the sound out. 'Kill Them' follows and is perhaps the most upbeat of the album with its thumping drums and bursts of sharp cymbal strikes. 'In My Void' is a grating torture session that takes you into the inner depths of the burning abyss with the relentless, searing distortion of the track. By this time, Transgressor has created a cold, bleak, grating, distorted, hateful atmosphere that soon takes the listener into a hypnotic spell. 'Echoes in Time' is slightly more upbeat than the stagnant, ensorcelled, track that is caught in 'Between Worlds (in Limbo). 'Echoes in Time' builds on the voided, electric, atmosphere that is Of The Blood with hypnotic riff repetitions that take the listener even further into the burning pits of darkness. 'Echoes In Time' is spiked with periods of fierce, aggressive drumming that helps stoke the fires of hatred burning within the enthusiastic listener. The next ritual, 'Before the Stars Existed', is a lilting, dying track that remains a slow burning hate session that harkens to a time of pure darkness before the stars existed. The very end of 'Before the Stars Existed' is a heated section with fierce vocals, fierce drumming, and fierce guitar work that burn into the senses of the listener. The final track 'Dunkelheit' is a Burzum cover done right. This track is the perfect track to conclude the album with as the song is covered very smoothly leaving the listener with the desire of further return trips into the blackness.

Miasma's Of the Blood is cold, ritualistic Black Metal in strong form. The harsh, distorted, electric, grating, voided atmosphere will leave the listener lost in the Abyss as the vehicles for hatred are powerful on this album. Miasma's Of the Blood would appeal to fans of Leviathan, Xasthur, Crebain, Burzum and Black Metal in general. The hatred of this album will burn into your mind.

Platoon's pretty much said anything I could. This album is very dissonant...rash at some points, ambient in others while still maintiaing its coarse nature. It is very reminiscent of Xasthur's "Nocturnal Poisoning." Word I hear is that Profane Productions is going to be supporting it in the near future... - Wed, 26 Apr 2006 3:11am Edited: Wed, 26 Apr 2006 3:23am

Its good Lovernios is still doing Profane... that house fire he had to deal with in the past was not good.

Hopefully he'll start releeasing things in real CD format and not just a CD-R release.

I think Xasthur is far overrated... like how many things is he going to release in a year?? 2 full lengths in one year and 4 splits.. Geez enough already. - Wed, 26 Apr 2006 12:59pm Edited: Wed, 26 Apr 2006 1:03pm

Who cares how many Xasthur albums are released this year. The more music the better. Being prolific is a talent of its own, it's called the talent of hard work. - Sat, 29 Apr 2006 7:31pm

Nope, it's called rehashing what's been done.
Over and over ad nauseum. - Sun, 30 Apr 2006 8:04pm

Suit yourself. Whenever a band isn't 'rehashing what's been done' they are put down for 'selling out'. As if I care anyway. Some people appreciate different things. I see being prolific as being hard working. If you think recording two Metal albums and two Metal eps in one year is easy you have not ever tried it before. - Sun, 30 Apr 2006 9:38pm

It's actually very easy.

Xasthur does little more that take the best parts of Manes and Burzum and repeat, repeat, repeat.
Quality before quantity, please. Eg- Weakling, Mysticum, Blut Aus Nord, Ruins Of Beverast, Kvist, Ondskapt....

But to each their own. Apologies to Miasma for highjacking this thread. - Sun, 30 Apr 2006 10:15pm
