| Videomaker User Info... |  So first up is Counting Heartbeats fresh off their 13 song Album with Adam Sutherland. These guys have been burning the midnight oil lately and if the soundman hadn't been asleep at the wheel it would have been near ecstasy!!! Josh was all on and sweatty n' eveything. Fighting a bit of a cold he was great. Super treat to hear your new stuff guys. Keep it up. Next up the Art of Dying. No offence guys but I was not really impressed. Fairly formula a bit pitchy for my liking and probably good enough for the local scene in Vancouver but over here in Victoria we like our music to be "inspired." Would definitely see/hear this band again when they stop trying to be like every other theory of a Deadman and Schnizelback cover band. Hint for the drummer...."subtleness may help.Vocal harmonies are off and need attention. Last up Armchair Cynics: Never seen/heard this band before but heard a lot of good things about this band. I was very impressed with their energy. They are very talented and among the best BC bands I have heard/ seen in BC. Vocals are tight. Everyone plays well together. It helps that they have in my opinion the best recording engineer/producer on the island in the line up too. (Adam Sutherland). If these guys can't make it in the business then no one can. Overall performance by the cynics gets an A+ from Videomaker, CHB A+, Art of Dying C- and the soundman for the Heartbeats set gets a C- also. Note to self "set levels during sound check and then when the band starts don't go running the light show without ensuring the levels are right. | Pierce User Info... | No offense, but your photography SUCKS! Not one clear pic. Nice fukin try, but you coulda done better. I give the Photographer a F- for wasting my time. Wanted to see some pics of my old boys rockin out, and cant even tell which band is which from your pics. When you start taking real pictures, let me know! As for sound guys, If you get John Borys or someone who knows his shit things should go over well. Where is The Wolf? He was easily the best (dependable) photographer. Or how about Andrew Johnson? he is a wikkid photographer as well. | service. User Info... | You are totally right, taking photos and playing music are pretty much the same thing. When you are photographer you aren't allowed to have an opinion, apparently. Whats the funniest is you had to start a totally new account just to make that comment. That takes guts! Way to go. Just because some chick knocked me out when i was hitting on her the other night doesnt mean you have to make fun of me for it. Are you the Girls boyfriend? Weird. Giving a band that played well, a C- because he thinks they sound like other bands, well that deserves a returned critique for those god awful pictures. Like seriously. If ya can dish it out, ya better be able to eat it up! Hell i do everyday. But then again, I am an idiot. Oh and the Wolf was a dude who i saw at every single show i ever played. Secondly, you make an account (it looks that way) to say " i am glad you got punched out". Only someone who was involved with AC would know that. Not once have i come public about the Assault which could lead to criminal charges. The statute of limitations doesnt run out for some time yet. Your son has "promised" on paper (email) that costs would be re-imbursed. Immediately after i got "punched out" i spoke with an RCMP officer at the Airport. A police report was filed. This is after the lead singer (i never mention names) punched YOUR son. This is all fact. So, why don't you leave the negative ctritiques to where they belong............. Your ethic and morale values. This is pathetic. Absolutely sad. You even say that Vancouver Island needs "inspired" music. And again later you reinstate that AOD suck, and the sound guy sucked. Don, i did not write the above. Not my character. No where do i say a thing negative about anything between said band and I. I have had ample opportunity to say anything. As well there would be no confusion as to who Videomake is because i haven't a clue. I guess this is what happens when you get punched in a popular band. I just wanted to go to bed and thought i would surf for a bit. Grief. Really they are a good band. Anyone who feels they should stand up for me. Don't. First of all I do not know anyhing about someone being punched and even after reading these threadsI am still not sure who got punched out much less care. When I wrote that this was my first time seeing/hearing this band that actually wasa true. I hadn't ever been to a show of theirs. I wouldn't invest in their drums if I were you. 2) Your opinion is just as valid(invalid?) as Videomakers. 3) The boys from Art Of Dying were good musicans. I found it extreamly painful to hear them making the music they did. They are cappable of so much more. 4) The funniest part of it all is that I am sitting at home taking the time to rebut some metal drummers angry post of behalf of someone else. I'm not mad!
