Mr. Hell posting here from Gabri~hell's account because I am too brain-damaged to log into my own, it seems. Sure would be nice to have that delete option back!
Why have I not seen any promo for this show in a shameless thread?
Checked them out at http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewprofile&friendID=65467586 and it sounds pretty cool. Bluesy rock with AC/DC leanings and Bad Company riffing. I'll be there to check it out.
Hopefully, judging by the sample on Live Vic, Budokan will have tuned their guitars and be singing in key for the benefit of those who appreciate in tune music.
Reviews to follow, I'm sure. - Sat, 15 Apr 2006 9:49pm Edited: Sat, 15 Apr 2006 9:58pm

Just back from Logan's.
Budokan were in tune and the vocals didn't grate my ears. Much improved from the Sugar show I saw them at with NMN. The songs still didn't grab me, but they put forth a valiant effort. The Nigel Tufnel skeleton shirt on the lead guitarist was an entertaining aspect of their set.
Midnight Dragon are fucking great! They dub themselves 70's boogie rawk and they couldn't be more dead on.
Influences ranged from Deep Purple to Aerosmith to Kiss to Cheap Trick and every other important band from the golden era of rock music. It was like watching Ace Frehley, RItchie Blackmore and Geezer Butler disciples on stage together with a student of John Bonham on drums. The songs were well written and didn't have any parts that dragged. A personal favorite was 'Greasy Soul' with dual lead trade offs near the end. Every song was a treat, however. Vocals tinged with Bon Scott rasp made the package complete. They left me wanting more, which is rare at a live show. I was told they are working on a recording, so that will be anticipated very much.
Highly recommended rock band to see next time they come. The turnout was disappointing. Midnight Dragon deserves to have a very large crowd to play for...not 11 people.
On a related note, that blown speaker on the right side of the PA needs fixing. Frapp and crackle was non-stop throughout. - Sun, 16 Apr 2006 1:06am Edited: Sun, 16 Apr 2006 1:23am
