I went to see Goatsblood, and then I went over to catch the Golers and Zuckuss. missed both openers cuz i'm a loser.
I LOVE GB and Z. LOVE.
Crazy, maniacal kind of love, so I'll leave it at that. ('cept those cleaned up GB fans kinda creep me out a little - they're like deer caught in headlights!)

Anyways Golers nailed it last night. Stu Carruthers is on bass for them now, and I don't know whether thats where the credit should go, but whatever it is, they're definately up there on that next level now (I mean musically). I've been blown away by the drummer before, and I've always thoroughly enjoyed the band but sometimes I got the impression that they didn't have the stamina/fitness to pull off what they were aiming for (though I've NEVER spoken to anyone who was ever disappointed). We were all happy but they just seemed to have lofty goals they were stretching for and weren't quite hitting yet. But they definately have it all now and it doesn't seem like its going to fade anytime soon... they're gearing up for something, its pretty obvious. Really confident and it just came off way heavier than I'd ever seen them but with the same goler high energy. Seemed like the songs were reworked too with more interesting dynamics and varied parts thrown in. Stu said he was an original member, because Golers came out of Subversion, so I guess they're following through on an earlier vision.
A great set and a totally impressive re-launch for them. Excited. - Sat, 18 Mar 2006 9:01am Edited: Sat, 18 Mar 2006 9:09am
