I am looking to start a power metal band in the vein of Angra, Edguy, Blind Guardian, Iron Savior, Gamma Ray etc. Some of you may know me from Golgotha, and if you are interested please let me know. I am looking for: -Drummer -Bassist -Keyboardist -Vocalist (If not i am going to give my go at singing) -I may or may not need another guitarist as of yet. | Timo User Info... | If you decide you want another guitarist, please give me an e-mail and send me some guitar pro tabs (I have a lot of power metal shit written also on guitar pro, and can send you some of my stuff if your interested - most of the lyrics for the music is about dragons coming to slay you, how you are going to die in an epic battle tomorrow, flying through nebulas with the goal of enslaving the Galexy, ext... not positive themed but I'm a proficient writer). I play a Blind Guardian style of guitar (harmonized and melodic) - I'm really into Scandinavian (Sonata Arctica, for example), Continental Euro (Helloween, Blind Guardian), Japanese (Galnaryus, Azrael), and Brazilian (Angra) power metal, as well as Scottish gaelic folk music (done in a power metal style). I also play a bit of keyboard (not enough to merit being a keyboard player), and have a lot of recording and live gear (most of it is in Calgary, but I'll be shipping it out here this summer). I have a broad musical background outside of guitar, and I plan to take vocal training and fiddle lessongs this summer and should be able to handle harmonized backing vocals when called for. I have a broad musical background outside of guitar and some recording experience (and lots of gear), and this summer I'm taking some sound engineering courses in addition to my Mechanical Engineering studies at Uvic. During this summer I'll probably be living in an apartment while I go to school, however in the the fall I'll be moving into a house and setting up a decent studio (Good mics, TC Helicon vocal harmonizer, all the essentials of PA and recording hardware, JMC 2000 TSL, lots of other shit). I'm a full time engineering student at Uvic however, so I would only be able to jam probably once or twice a week. Anyway, epic power metal is my passion. | Timo User Info... | By the way, I might be able to tackle the vocals (and do some dueling guiar also) after my summer vocal training. Apparently my voice is not bad, but I feel that it needs professional attention if I want to use it for power metal (with my old band I recorded some power metal songs, and when I look back and listen to the recordings I shiver at the lack of vocal quality, however I was sixteen then and I like to think that my voice has naturally matured).
