i only really saw the counting heartbeats, but that was enough for me. I know they're rad guys, but they put on a great show. those kids were incredibly pumped when the heartbeats played; they had the crowd controlled like a mofo. awesome turnout too. - Sat, 21 Jan 2006 10:51am

Good show.

Blind Eye was good, although not a big fan of the Fall Out Boy cover. I was kind of interested to see them as my band's playing a show with them next month. So I was happy with what I saw...or heard?

Italian Edition. Holy. Fuck. Wow. I was expecting good things looking at what this band consisted of. I mean Pushing Up Daisies were damn good, but this, this is on a whole new level of amazing. I'm very excitied to see them again.

Counting Heartbeats. Well, it was Counting Heartbeats, so really what more is needed said? The new song was rad. The crowd was both amazing and retarded at the same time during this set. I mean, a fight broke out mid-song. Christ, what happened to just enjoying the band without killing people?

Carpender were not really my thing. They kind of went on and on in their songs. Like the first two songs sounded like one really long song. Although, the fact they didicated their show to John Cougar Melloncamp was great.

Theset were great, too bad they had to cut their set short. Really, I'd be happy with seeing only four bands if it ment the bands got to play longer. I was really tired before I even got to the show, so by the time theset came around, I was dead. (Espeically after Counting Heartbeats) which I think prevented me from liking theset's ... set as much as I could of.

All in all, a good show. I went home happy. - Sat, 21 Jan 2006 11:48am

What a fantastic show, tons of energy!

I missed Blind Eye.

Italian Edition - I hadn't seent them since their first and boy did they blow me away. Their tightness, performing, songs, everything was amazing. Jack's buttons were all over the stage, I wouldn't have had it any other way.

Counting Heartbeats - The crowd went from calm and collected young adults to crazy ADHD angry five year olds. They performed with love, it was fantastic.

I didnt really watch Carpenter but they seemed to have a good sound.

theset was THESET!!!!!! They were real good. Tristan let me use his duct tape to repair my shoes from the mosh pit, much love.

All in all one of the funnest shows I've ever been to. - Sat, 21 Jan 2006 6:31pm

good turnout in terms of amount of people. haha.

blind eye aren't my thing but they are solid, I just can't appreciate that sort of music

italian edition were great

counting heartbeats were also great

carpenter made me have to leave

I enjoyed how during theset, joey tried to pull a headwalk, crocadile dundee-style.

bosevus needs to charge less for shows. $8 for an almost all-local-band lineup? rediculous. Remember when $7 was expensive, $6 was pushing it, and $5 was a good amount??
then again, I enjoyed two bands so I should stop whining about being poor. I was more stoked on the fact that I got soup from the soup nazi earlier in the day. - Sat, 21 Jan 2006 9:34pm

It's true that shows aren't as cheap as they used to be, but neither is renting venues. I'd rather give an extra dollar or two at a show if it means the bands getting a decent cut (or any cut at all). - Sun, 22 Jan 2006 9:07am

How are people still complaining about paying less than $10 to see quality local music?
I was at work, so couldn't make it to this show, but seriously - f*ck, I spent over $8 at Blockbuster after work on an old DVD and a bag of chips...

check out Italian Edition @ Steamer's this Thursday the 26th @ the Vince Vaccaro Zone band of the month showcase!!! - Sun, 22 Jan 2006 8:18pm

"How are people still complaining about paying less than $10 to see quality local music? "

don't say that!! they'll raise it to $11!

my point is that some people put on shows of other genres and have to pay -more- touring bands, but get less of a turnout because it isn't fallout boy-type bands. and yet those shows are still $8, yet barely manage to give the touring bands some money to take the ferry and whatever.

go to resources, look up fernwood, check past shows.
it generally goes 8...8...8... (6 months ago:) 7...6...7..6....(12 months ago:) 5...5...5..6..5... oh, a bosevus show I went to with more touring bands on sept 17, 2004, was 6......then everything before that is generally 6 or 5. the average has gone up like 3 dollars, like a show and a half? last time I checked, fernwood has never doubled their prices or anything that drastic.

paying local bands is a very good thing, and I understand how nitpicky it sounds about a couple dollars. I was just looking for a reason. I am a poor university student who tries to spend his money on music equipment, while still supporting the scene. but if you read my initial post, I was just a little miffed, not actually pissed off about it all. don't take me too seriously about this, it is just something I noticed.

italian edition and counting heartbeats made my night (and life) worth it!

nik:
A) dunno, I left during the bands that were ehhhhish
B) well into the hundreds
C) probably enough to fill a garbage can
D) also well into the hundreds - Sun, 22 Jan 2006 11:17pm

Tyler, you make my life worth living man!

All money issues aside, we had a bitchin' (as the kids say these days) time.
Blind Eye were radical. Totally dug the tunes.
You cats have mad potential and I am stoked to see what comes of your band.

Italian Edition - What the piss can I say!? Amazing. Period.
We still want to marry you gentle gentlemen.
Consider this our 2nd proposal. Now quit playing games with our heart.

Counting Heartbeats - Handsome fellows.

Carpenter - Didn't know what to expect but I liked what I heard.

theset - Very gnarley set. Mad energy. Dr. Dre shirt. Beauty. Pants. Uh huh.

A grand thanks so Matt, Nev/the Bosevus crew - you guys done well!
The show was fabulous. And thanks to all our friends who came out, rocked out and kept it real with us. We heart you. - Mon, 23 Jan 2006 1:02am

Sooo many people.
Stayed outside for carpenter cause there was some awesome lurking going on, couldn't say whether or not I liked em. Italian edition were very good, counting heartbeats always makes me dance, and theset I don't remember seeing before, had some blood brothers esque parts...a very few...but I liked that. They should get more.
A good show, $8 was steep though in my opinion. - Mon, 23 Jan 2006 9:44pm

i believe peter gardener said it best when (i quote roughly) "it can cost 10 to go see a movie or 8 to see a show." man, i woud take the show any day. i spent 10 rent dvds of Lost the other day. Lost vs. Show...? (Lost is pretty awesome.)

i played in counting heartbeats at that show and i will admit that we did make a good deal of money. that was because of the record turnout. if the show had turned out worse, the costs would still have been there. promoters need to cover rising costs and the money the bands make goes to propel the scene. of the money we made off that show, i have seen not a cent of it. it all goes to support the music so we can keep playing shows and recording albums. it comes down to the continuation of good music.

it's all about the scene. feel it! - Tue, 24 Jan 2006 2:33am
