Does anybody know why the February 1st show and February 8th show aren't listed? I'd love to know as I'm supposed to be playing there on the 1st. - Mon, 16 Jan 2006 4:30pm

So Mike, according to the zone's website there is a DJ playing at The Jungle Room on February 1st. Have you got any idea why there are two things booked that night? - Mon, 16 Jan 2006 10:42pm

I can humbly vouch for Sanijav being "kick ass", but for reasons I can't totally remember. - Tue, 17 Jan 2006 1:12pm

Thanks to all that came out to support and cheered so loud even when the Gibson fell apart in my hands...

Also big fat thanks to Trickster and makeshift Alibi for putting on sweet shows AND contributing to the dancy-dancy, that was wicked. Extra cheese to trickster for the patch cords (we found ours in the car afterward. Floppy retards in hell, batman!) That was a lot of fun, Mike, good idea. - Thu, 19 Jan 2006 2:50pm

To reiterate Gord's (wackakapow) post, the night was a big success thanks to Big Mike (awesome dude). Makeshift Alibi are a very tight band with an energetic and capivating front man, check 'em out if you get a chance. Trickster played their own brand of punk/rock/pop and a couple of cool covers. And thanks again to Trickster for accepting my "collateral" and lending us some patch cords.

We look forward to playing in the last round, it looks like it's us and Acidwash so far. - Thu, 19 Jan 2006 3:41pm

Yeah, that was a fun night! I'd like to thank big Mike for putting this battle of the bands together. It was really cool to play with Makeshift Alibi and Sanijav. We all had very distinct styles. Makeshift Alibi was like getting blindsided by an 18 wheeler. Very thick guitars, very powerful. Congrats to Sanijav who made great use of the underrated cowbell and played some mellow groovers that got the ladies excited.

Haha, good luck in the finals dudes. - Thu, 19 Jan 2006 3:59pm

Definetally a great night! Tons of thanks to Big Mike for putting it on, we (Makeshift Alibi) had a great time! Really enjoyed both Trickster and Sanijav's set's. Trickster was really entertaining, with a good mix of origionals and covers, really cool Pixies cover, and some really sweet lead guitar. I liked how they switched up the voclas so much, it was sweet to hear all three of them guys up front singing. Oh and special thanks to their drummer and bassist for helping us out in soundcheck! Definetally go check those guys out!
Sanijav was really cool too, unfortunatelly i missed a bunch of their set, we had to get our gear back to our jam spot as we all had to be up early, (particularly our drummer who had to be up at 4) so we couldn't wail tell the end to get that back, but i caught a few songs and the beginning and a few at the end, and i was definetally impressed, some great guitar work and very catchy/dancable tunes! Much congrats on makeing the finals! Definetally chack these guys out in the finals, should be a wicked show! - Thu, 19 Jan 2006 11:40pm

thanks to everyone who came out! we had fun playing.. that drum stage didnt give me much to work with tho, had to place my cymbals in pretty awkward places.. oh well

i really enjoyed Makeshift Alibi's set, they have great stage presence, and very good music. i cant wait to check out those guys again.. good luck in the future.

Sanijav was a fun band to listen to.. but by the time they played i was already drunk so i had extra fun

all in all it was a fun night

thanks to mike for having us play!
