Languid beats, disorted acoustic guitar, ethereal keys, I like it... Reminds me of Sigur Ros or Air, Massive Attack, even Amon Tobin's mellower stuff (no vocals whatsoever). This would likely bore Type A's not into aural negative spacing but could probably mellow just about anyone out. It's got enough going on in there to stay well away from boring, despite the slower pace and repetition. Definitely lovely noise to dream to, love to, or whatever. - Thu, 5 Jan 2006 10:30pm

Wow, I didn't think anyone was into Boards of Canada (no, there not Canadian, there actually from the UK I think). There earlier work is actually better IMO. - Fri, 6 Jan 2006 12:59pm

I've been meaning to give this one a listen to. I heard the guitars weren't excellent, that you could tell it's a new instrument, but that it was a good album anyway. Should be a good listen.

I took a computer music class last term, and we took a listen to them in class. I got a chance to make a couple similar pieces, very strange ones. Ten seconds of acoustic guitar completely distroyed over 4 minutes :P - Fri, 6 Jan 2006 1:14pm

Hm, that'd be fun to mess around with. Yeah I think they're Scottish. I'm not too familiar with their earlier stuff. I'll have to check it out. What's this, the guitar wasn't broken in type of thing? They sounded deliberately muddied to me, but what do I know.. Namuch. I'm just getting into playing and what the bells and whistles do. - Fri, 6 Jan 2006 11:34pm

_Griphin_ why would nobody be into Boards of Canada? They are one of those groups that everyone seems to love to namedrop. But yeah, my favourite release was "music has a right to children". I haven't heard this new one. - Mon, 9 Jan 2006 6:14pm

Wow, I fergot about "Music Has the Right..." I'm into stuff like that and Coil-Stolen and Contaminated Songs (and "Musick to Play in the Dark Volume 1", trippy album, oh and Zoviet France-Vienna 90), for instance. Well, only cause BoC is the type of band a lot of people don't listen to, so naturally I though people don't listen to that kind of music. - Mon, 9 Jan 2006 7:03pm
