| Colin User Info... | The bands were asked to be arrive at 2:00pm, The promotor did not arrive until 4:30. We were scheduled to play at 5:30, with the other bands starting at 4:00pm, show did not start till 530, with people still lined up outside. 2 minutes before we were going on stage (we had all our gear behind the stage ready to go) friends, and family waiting to see the set, and the promotor says " we cant play till all the other bands are finished, including the headliners. (since are friends& family , were not going to wait till 1:00am to see us play -we needed to get their money back. -since our fans had the money refunded/ theirfore no money for supernova.... we had no timeslot. This is why I got pissed off, as would any other band if they found out they were getting kicked off the bill, 1 minute before going on stage. In conclusion, I dont want to to rant about this, or start any fighting,,, just thought the truth should be out their so everyone can stop asking. My band got cut from the bill, but you know what i got from kevin, $30 gas money, all the money back for the tickets that I sold and we still could have played at the end if there was time left, but we chose to go home. | Colin User Info... | What is proffessional about being kicked off the bill , 1 minute before going on stage, just because the promotor showed up late. If a production company books a certain amount of bands for a show, they need to make sure everything is organized in a proffessional manner. And finally, Wannless, im not one to sit back and let my band get fucked around by some promoter. If I have something to say, ill say it to his face. The promoter fucked You over also, But he just bought you out with 30$, even though they easily cleared alot more then that after skamming all the bands money, and not paying anyone. And to tell you the truth, if my band playing meant that another band had to sit out it's not worth it, that just creates tension between two bands. | Kyle User Info... | I'm well aware of the events that went down that evening, and i solved everything for myself with a simple phonecall to jenn at supernova, who inturn called kevin, and bitched him out...and insted of closing the show at 11..(being last on the website) we went back our original slot, and did our thing, everyone seemed to love it, except anyone who got cut...and if you even read the fucking contract where it states something along the lines of "all bands much sell a minimum of 45 tickets to secure a timeslot, all bands under 45 in sales can be removed from the bill at the promoters descression" and if i'm not mistaken...11 is no where near 45...you should have tried harder kids, seriously...i was soo sick of you little bitches moping around about how gay the show was when you didn't even come close to doing your end...so "we" made a ton of money for supernova...well, not you, they rewarded us with some prizes, and told us about some show coming back around...because we did everything we could to ensure a draw! you just sat on your fucking ass and played polyphonic solos all day, when in reality you should have gotten a haircut, and stopped dressing like a fucking hippy, and TRIED to sell tickets.. in closing, i hope you're never on a bill in victoria again, and i can promise you, if you will, i sure as fuck won't be there. | nicola User Info... | Maybe next time if a contract says that you have to sell 45 tix to play (and if you don't you COULD get cut)- maybe you shouldn't sign the contract... I don't think I could guarantee 45 tickets and I've been in the scene for 5 years. People are very non-committal. I would hate to put my own time, money and energy into a show (rehearsals, gear rentals, gas, postering etc) and then at the last minute get cut. My time is money... I'd like to get back what I put in. Now I didn't attend the show, so my official standpoint is "no opinion".... although I think that contract stipulation is a little bogus for littler known locals. (sorry for the title but I don't know if I've actually seen ANYONE on that bill before). As for acidwash looking for shows, everyone could use the opportunity to share their music. Who cares if their "mother is a skank". We should be uniting as a "musical community" and not tearing it apart. If Acidwash wanted to do a bill with my band- I'd support them. Hey, this is Simon the bassplayer from the prog/alt/rock band called Vinegaroon (Vin-e-ga-rune), and we're looking for some more shows to play. Some of our influences would be Primus, Queens of the Stone Age, Rage Against the Machine, Pearl Jam etc. We're still a high school band but we'll play all ages, pubs, bars, school venues, whatever. We'll play for money or pro-bono doesn't matter. We've been around since about April 2005 and have played for about over 10 shows since. We're just trying to get our name out there and more established like other bands such as HRP and the Vendors (who I must say, deserve it).
