After his statement a few years ago that "Last Dog and Pony Show" was going to be his last guitar based record and the following electronica, I thought that I'd never have cause to listen to Mould again.
Well thanks to the modern world of downloading stuff, I took a chance and some time to listen to his new offering "Body Of Song".
I'm pretty glad I did. Mould has realized that no one can quite write a hook like he can so he had to come back and show us how it's done. Sure, there's keyboards and electronic things in the mix, but the key is Bob's distinctive voice and those damn hooks! The record actually sounds to me like where I would expect Husker Du or Sugar to be when they are approaching middle age. Still rocking but with a tolerable matureness to it.

Very interesting Ty.

I did spend alot of time with Husker Du. Although i havent listened to them in probably 10 years... my record player is broken eh. I do have a sugar CD in my van that does get frequent play.

I will have to hunt this "Last Dog and Pony Show" on your suggestion.
