| Shane Sparks User Info... | I've been writing and recording under "Faith, My Atheist Love" for the past 4-5 years and thinking it's time to get a band together. I want to play guitar in this band. Bandcamp: http://closertofour.bandcamp.com YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/faithmyatheistlove My dream of all dreams is to find 3-4 guys who are all talented, mature, interested in writing well-crafted, beautiful, non-cliched, emotionally engaging indie rock, do some recording, and start playing semi-regularly. After jamming with a few musicians I'm remembering how elusive "fit" is. To me that's the most important part of this whole thing. My fav band of all time is The National. Current fav's are Frightened Rabbit and Bon Iver. Honourable mention: Wilco, Spoon, Shins, Stars... I tend to favour layered, dense orchestration leaning to the melancholy. Typically indie art-fuck kind of music, I guess. But hey, it's got soul! I've got good gear, a home recording studio, stable, semi-motivated and pretty easy to get along with. I don't really care whether we play my songs, or start fresh. I'd be nice to play some of my catalog since I've spent god-knows how much money and time on it, but I'm up for whatever serves the greater good. I live in Shawnigan, so I can do either a victoria-based band, or cowichan valley based. Lastly, the joy for me is in creating beautiful things. And while recognition is nice, I'd prefer to be around realists who aren't pinning their career hopes on success is the music business. Hit me up if you're interested in feeling things out. I love The National and also am a fan of stuff like TV on the Radio, The Black Keys, Tom Vek, Bjork, Bat for Lashes, Lamb, Thom Yorke, Beck, Interpol, Boards of Canada. I love emotional indie rock with lots of rich layered sound and especially if there is a healthy dose of electronic sounds in the mix.
