| dooker User Info... | Queen City Kids - classic band - saw them a couple of times http://www.headpins.net/ccr/roster/qck.shtml may not be the best bio but it gives you an idea - these guys were for real - could be another interesting band from Victoria - they were big when I was playing with an new wave band in Edmonton (which wasn't big) - The Models were another great band and one of them lives here in Victoria (I will let Vegas Jones take it from here) from :http://www.canoe.ca/JamMusicPopEncycloPagesQ/queencity.html The four members of QCK met while in high school in Regina, Saskatchewan, and formed a band in 1968 originally called Cambridge. They were together as a bar band for 12 years before getting signed without a member change. In 1980 they were signed to Columbia Records and recorded their eponymous debut with producer Gene Martynec. It was released in 1981 and the band once again hit the road, establishing themselves as a premier live act. They went back into the studio in late 1981 to record their second album, 'Black Box', with Rob Freeman producing. They used an abandoned bank building in downtown Winnipeg, Manitoba, to get the live feel they felt was lacking in their first effort. The album was released in 1982 and spawned a hit with "Dance", the first single. They toured with the likes of April Wine, Ozzy Osborne, Streetheart, Joan Jett and Blue Oyster Cult, but the US break they were looking for failed to materialize, and in 1983 they called it quits. Chuaqui formed Straw Dogs, Germain and Donnelly formed Love Active with Models guitarist Larry Bourke and vocalist/guitarist Kim Albright; both bands played frequently in Saskatchewan and the west. A few years ago the four members got back together for a reunion show in Saskatchewan and since then have done occasional and well attended gigs in their hometown and area. - Mon, 14 Mar 2005 9:46pm | ||

| Damien User Info... | I'm interested, I'm 20 years old and I've been singin' for a while now... haha... semi-professionally and what not and am definitely interested in getting something going. I play pretty much everything blues, metal, folk, rock and have dabbled in the same. I play rhythm guitar and have been for about.... 11 years I guess. | Vegas J User Info... | Hey Jeff....welcome to Victoria...tons of talented guys out here..and more moving here everyday! QCK from what I can remember was a great band...I think I (foggishly)recall "Dance" ! Good luck with your project...I can always sit in on keys in studio and the occasional show in a pinch ..but am pretty much booked up with Nuvowavo. Otherwise it would be a blast !
