Yes they are excellent playing guitars.
cheap yet efficient.
make sure you have an experienced person check out the intonation, the neck.....etc.....
But yeah otherwise they are great studio instruments. - Mon, 17 Jan 2005 1:48pm

go with godin guitar products.
seagull, art and lutherie, simon and patrick, and norman are all much better guitars for just a few dollars more.

unless you are talking about high end yamaha, which are excellent.

for $160-180 go for good canadian solid wood. - Mon, 17 Jan 2005 2:02pm

really a guitar is a long term investment.
I would not buy any of these cheap efficient axes
Go for the gold, if you can afford it.
Larvai, martin, Takemini, mossman but they dont make em like they used to, the original factory burnt to the ground

There are many other local bc guitar builders too, its always good to support them, they dedicate their time to these works of art.

Otherwise (+) is correct also, its ulitmately up to you, dont make a fast decision, look around, talk to as many people as you can, you will be stuck with it, if you finance through L+M they will trade in if you are not happy, and they have reasonable rates.

Go try all L+M's guitars, if you nead any more opinions, there are always experienced people there that can help you. But dont get conned into buying the first thing you ask to see, remember they make comission too, and love to sell stuff to you, good luck. - Mon, 17 Jan 2005 2:12pm

As above, go with anything from Godin. An Art & Lutherie Cherry model is all plywood, therefore inexpensive, extremely durable, yet still sounds pretty good. Best bet for the lowest bucks. - Mon, 17 Jan 2005 3:39pm

I have a Yamaha f-310, your typical starter acoustic. It has a very bright sound that annoyes me, but that may be the strings contributing to the sound also. As for the price, I think I payed $150 for it, cant really go wrong with that. If your getting all hot and horny over this perticular model, I could send you an Audio clip of a recording I did with it. Overall I believe it is a solid, reliable acoustic, that is priced reasonably for starters. A good first buy. Cheers... Ryan - Mon, 17 Jan 2005 9:35pm

oh Im sorry, you should with all the shit you guys sell.
And NAT, dont judge a guitar by someones recordings, take the mic, and the pick up into consideration, the sound of a recording is not a good reason to buy the guitar, sorry Ryan, I play an old beet up piece of shit, and it sounds great on tape to. And it was free. - Mon, 17 Jan 2005 9:52pm

take it from me, buy a art and lutherie guitar. The one thats $220. I play guitars all day at work and have found this model to be the best bang for your buck. If you can shell out a bit more buy a seagull for $330 - Tue, 18 Jan 2005 8:40am
