| kyle User Info... | dude, if you're counting on livevictoria for your last attempt, i can only imagine you've probably only tried this site for all your other attempts too. have you ever been to an all ages show? the scene is small here, but there are a ton of young musicians who are into the same shit you are. if you just sit on your ass waiting for them to come to you, you'll never find them. fall in archaea, we are leaving wounds, apparatus theory, bombs over rome, unicron, there are lots of progressive bands who play fucked up music here that aren't "death metal." i think i've only ever seen maybe two death metal bands in this city anyways (reaver and scimitar). you've gotta hit up the all ages scene man. i'm your age, i know it can be brutal sometimes being surrounded by teenagers, but 1) those are the people who are most likely going to be into the kind of music you wanna make because the BAR scene here sucks, and 2) most of the musicians you're going to find in this city who not just want to but are actually capable of laying down the kind of shit you wanna do are probably going to be just out of highschool. you don't have to move to the states, but i think you do need to put a little more effort into starting a band if you're really that "serious" as you've mentioned like a billion times. it took me a couple of years to put together the band i wanted to play in, but it happened. we're called covalent. we may not have "tests of physical limits" but i listen to a lot of the influences you have listed and i know there are a lot of kids in this town who do too. if you're seriously serious, you've gotta get off the computer and into the all agers. trust me, they're out there. - Tue, 22 Mar 2011 12:07pm Edited: Tue, 22 Mar 2011 12:07pm | ||

Once I was playing Helmet's "Betty", and my 130pd wolfdawg got so excited he slammed up against the back of the couch and smashed out my front window. Kyle: i meant good bands, if you know any teenagers who could either A: play drums like thomas pridgen or chris pennie B: realise no band from the island going to make it, then please put me in contact and we could go to LA to start something serious. ive done my tours of the island scene since highschool, there hasnt been anything original or promising since Open,Parachute! and look how that ended. Cedric Zavala said something about El Paso that totally applies to the island "if you want to make it and you live in El Paso, you have to leave El Paso" cept this is the island but you get my drift. sorry to diss your scene, but its balls.
