| Lucky Bar User Info... | That's right... Lucky, Live Victoria, and CFUV present the second annual Lucky Bar Battle of the Bands. Grand Prize: $1000 cash. 16 bands will compete over four nights (four bands per night - Nvember 2/9/16/23) with the four winners competing at the Grand Finale (November 30). Winners of each night and the Grand Finale will be judged by crowd response. All bands are welcome to compete. To enter the contest, email [email protected] with BATTLE ROYALE in the subject box. | Lucky Bar User Info... | THE WAY IT WORKS: Any band can enter, and will be added to the roster on a first-come, first-serve basis. The 'battles' will be held on Tuesday nights in November, with the Grande Finale on November 30. Four bands will compete each Tuesday, with the winners of each night competing at the Grand Finale. The line-up of each night will be decided at 8pm (when the bands are supposed to show up) by draw. Sets will be 1/2hr in length, at 10pm, 11pm, 12am, and 1am. The winners will be decided by crowd response, using a decibel meter after each set. The Grand Prize is $1000 cash (paid out all at once). Cover for each night will be $5, and that money will be used for the Grand Prize, to cover the costs of the event, and to support CFUV in their Fund Drive efforts. NOTE: Nobody considers this contest to be the definitive battle to decide the "Best" band in Victoria. It's a fun event where bands get some beer, some stage time, and the chance to win some cash... and fans get a chance to scream their heads off for their favourites. At the same time, Lucky gets a chance to check out a bunch of new bands, many of whom we'll be able to book for future shows.
