| Troutbreath User Info... | Islam does have some legitimate grievences with the US government. The US has supported the Saudi Monarchy for years. They fought a war to support the monarchy in Kuwait. When it serves their purposes the US talks about Iraq becoming a "beacon of democracy in the middle east". Why not democracy for the Saudis? or Kuwait. What about freedom and democracy for the Palestinians? The US has a great deal to answer for in the middle east and they are using the situation there to avoid the question. In fact if you even ask the question you run the risk of being accused of supporting terrorism. In any case, they should be pushing for decrimilization, not what they suggest. I dunno why they bother anyway, I mean $2 billion in profit per year, and there worried about the fact that anyone can grow it, so it's not worth selling it in places/making it avaliable. Ummm... I can brew my own beer, but I doubt I take much of a dent out of the profits of beer companies. I mean they blew up a world class hotel in Jerusalem for fucks sake, and killed hundreds of thousands of Palistinians... Still won't give the poor fuckers the vote either. Kinda reminds be of how First Nation types were wiped out and treated as subhumans here.... kinda strange concidering the conditions that made the Jewish "settlers" move there: you'd think they might have some empathy for other minority groups... The jewish banking interests were also used to justify the extermination camps. This puts you in pretty interesting intellectual company. As for the presence of so many Jewish people in the banking institutions of Europe. This is something that has its roots in the 12th and 13th centuries. At that time it was considered bad form for a proper Christian Knight to have anything to do with money. Things got complicated when there began to be so many of them being held for ransom by the Muslims during the Crusades. The Jews, who were basically at the mercy of the European Nobility, were forced to become bankers in order to solve the problem.The only work they were allowed to do was to exchange money. All their other busines interests were confiscated. The Jews weren't really happy about this. If a King or a powerful Knight got into financial trouble they just started a pogrom and got rid of the problem. Sound familiar? The jews applied the lessons they had learned in business (Business being something else that was beneath the dignity of a Christian Knight).and eventually became very successful.
