Well another CC release, another gory cover, and another onslaught of brutalizing songs. The production on this disc is masterful. CC has bumped it up a notch with technicality and interesting song structures. Also Jack Owen writes a lot of the songs/lyrics on this album which makes for an interesting mix. To me the vocals on this one really shine and Corpsegrinder seems to be focussing on the audibility of the lyrics. Great new songs include "The Wretched Spawn", "Nothing Left to Mutilate", "Blunt Force Casteration" (which I cannot listen to without cringing), and "They Deserve to Die" just to name a few. The fact that this band CAN still make me cringe after 15 years and 9+ albums is a feat in itself. Get it, it comes out today (Tuesday Feb. 24) I believe. - Tue, 24 Feb 2004 4:57am

Yeah if you get the version with the DVD, you're in for a treat. And this album is full of wicked. Theres the best bass solo i've heard in awhile on this disc too. - Tue, 24 Feb 2004 6:17am

Ahhhh dude this album is so rad. Seems like they're getting better with age. Didnt one of you guys see CC in Seattle this past weekend? This and the new Decapitated have made 2004 more tolerable for me. Corspegrinder is my favourite vocalist ever, and this album reaffirms that fact. "Rotten Body Landslide" and "Nothing Left to Mutilate" are on heavy rotation for sure. - Fri, 27 Feb 2004 2:49pm

Only 2 new songs..that's kind of weird, when I saw them on the Bloodthirst/Gore Obssessed tours they played 4+ new ones. What was the rest of their set like? Opening song? Closing (probably Hammer Smashed Face) song? How was Longstreth with Exhumed? Details please gentleman, I must know about what I missed. - Sat, 28 Feb 2004 9:28am

I got the set-list, they played everything good. Shredded Humans was the opener, they played Fucked With A Knife and Stripped Raped and Strangled. I'll post up the full set later. And yes, they closed with Hammer Smashed Face.

Longstreth slayed with Exhumed. As we talked to Matt Harvey, he John isnt a permanent member. He's just helpinf them out. And Leon DelMuerte from Impaled replaced Bud Burke for some odd reason. It really would have been cool to see him puke, but sadly I have no idea where he is! - Sat, 28 Feb 2004 10:39am

Bud Burke is working on another band where he is playing the drums, I can't remember what they are called. He quit because he didn't want to deal with their extensive touring plans. Too bad, but Del Muerte did a great job.

OH and check the show reviews section, we posted a pretty thorough review of the show. - Sun, 29 Feb 2004 2:46pm
