| ticklefish User Info... | Defionitely good info...nothing new to me but I know when I first learned this stuff it helped a lot...especially about wattage in your amp. Nothing drives me crazier than seeing people sink hundreds of extra $$ into having a 100-200 W head because "you can't jam without 100W of power"... but hey, music stores love to let you believe lots of this stuff, it makes them wealthy - Thu, 19 Feb 2004 12:51pm | ||

| Colin Sick User Info... | Well having a louder power amp allows you to get a cleaner sound. That is why a triple rectifier or a 5150 can get that really fuzzed out sound. Beacuse the preamp is distorting and not the power amp. - Thu, 19 Feb 2004 8:36pm | ||
| ticklefish User Info... | Hey, just like that website I posted the link to says, there are places and situations where massive amps are indeed required, I am really only arguing with the people who seem to think that a massive amp is always required, kind of like guys who have to drive a Camaro to feel manly.
