fan | Not bad for a new unknown local band. Old time east coast crossover style hardcore with decent riffs and angry sounding vocal. Average-at-best production, poor bass sound, and weak drumming are the major issues on this album, but what can you expect for a first effort anyway? It's passable. If they stick with it, they might have something here. More thought needs to go into the lyrics, not much being said there, and I dunno I heard they got a new drummer already? Anyway, acceptable for old school fans of early american HxC. - Fri, 6 Jun 2003 12:51pm
free beer special guest | Tough As Nails is a pretty weak name; sounds like a pretty weak record. And the drumming should be good no matter what, especially in hardcore. Next. - Fri, 6 Jun 2003 1:10pm
Anonymous | Total fucking misnomar...."Cute as Buttons" would be more appropriate! - Fri, 6 Jun 2003 1:30pm

Criss Crass | I like this cd. They are even better live. I hadn't seen them live until last week. They ripped it up. I am looking forward to seeing them again and playing some more shows with them. - Sun, 8 Jun 2003 3:18pm
FANGU | that fucking rips! i thought the drumming was fine... no bullshit, no frills, just straight up hardcore. i want a cd. - Sun, 8 Jun 2003 4:12pm
Anonymous | no shit. - Sun, 8 Jun 2003 6:44pm
Anonymous | the drumming is also held back as to prevent making any mistakes causing more time and therefore cost to recording. but live it's more showy and impressive but still good no th ereocrding, jsut more straight up. - Sun, 8 Jun 2003 9:31pm
Anonymous | Hello This is PUNK ROCK people... Tough As Nails is angry, it's raw and it rocks. Get over yourself. Avril is not punk and neither is over produced punk pop. This is real. - Sun, 8 Jun 2003 11:06pm

Anonymous | punk' rock' a type of rock-'n'-roll, characterized by loud, insistent music and abusive or violent protest lyrics, and whose performers and followers are distinguished by extremes of dress and socially defiant behavior. Also called punk. - Mon, 9 Jun 2003 11:32am

_Griphin_ User Info... | I dunno... I should pick the CD up before passing judgement on this band, but I'm not a huge fan of their music (I left as they were taking the stage/floor?!? at the Fernwood Community Center a few months back, should of hung around for that, I know the lead singer of AK-47 is a huge fan and gave me shit for ditchin' early) but I downloaded the "VanIsle Crew" track and didn't care for it too much (eg. it didn't hook me). Perhaps it's a production issue or something, or I need to listen to it a few more times. Or perhaps I've heard this type of music too many times before. - Fri, 4 Jul 2003 2:48pm
