Mr. Hell User Info... | Holy fuck! Can't stop listening to this. The dual drumming translates well onto CD. The bass sound is just phenomenal and huge. Buzzo is top notch on both fronts. One of their best if not the best. Lots of drum interludes and no noise BS. My faves include: Civilized Worm A History Of Drunks Rat Faced The Hawk A History Of Bad Men Just get it and post your opinions. - Tue, 19 Sep 2006 4:13pm Edited: Tue, 19 Sep 2006 4:31pm
BM User Info... | Yes, this album is most excellent. The dual drummers sound huge. I found the production to be lacking a bit, but the drums more than make up for it. Dale Crover is the flam king! - Thu, 28 Sep 2006 10:50pm
trevor corey User Info... | Trevor confused. I went to the record store to pick up this new Melvins album only to be told it isn't out yet. WTF? I really enjoyed their project with Jello Biafra. - Thu, 5 Oct 2006 7:13pm
Mr. Hell User Info... | Fuck, Trevor. I fuckin' downloaded it. Now go buy me some pepperoni and jalapino chips. - Sat, 7 Oct 2006 10:15am

moron User Info... | "One of their best if not the best." Um, what? Maybe if the only album you had ever heard before that was "Stoner Witch". The album is mediocre at best, personally I think it sucks. It has maybe 30% passable (not brilliant mind you) old school Melvins sounding stuff then a wack of crap that sounds like Pantera meets Audioslave. I've said it elsewhere but what the album really sounds like is a band making fun of the Melvins. Doesn't compare favourably to "Houdini" even since that album at least had some true school Melvins brilliance to it. The production is wack too, all mid-range and 80s reverb sounding, very little oomph which is so important to the Melvins sound. Stick with the first 3 albums and EggNog as everything since then is mostly an exercise in frustration. IMHO Cheers - Sat, 18 Nov 2006 2:45pm
Mr. Hell User Info... | The lovely art of opinions. I always preferred the actual songs by The Melvins, not so much the wacky, noisy off-the-wall stuff...although some of that is good for my ears. This album is consistent and heavy, which are two important things I look for in a recording. Not to mention the endless supply of catchy, groovy riffs and Crover drumming. Sure, nothing on here touches The Bit, but it all translated well live and on a big, loud stereo it's a great listen. The production is somewhat mid-rangy, but the bass sound is monstrous so it works for me. It sounds way cleaner and heavier than the older stuff. Of course this comes with technology and budget increases as well as experience. Gotta love the purists, though! Keepin' it pure and keepin' it real! - Sun, 19 Nov 2006 1:57pm
