Ever since there last CD came out (Scars of the Crucifix), I've really liked this band, pity Deicide won't play here. :( HORNS UP!!! - Sun, 27 Aug 2006 12:18pm Edited: Sun, 27 Aug 2006 12:50pm

_Griphin_ User Info... | Courtesy: Blabbermouth.net DEICIDE's brand new brutal offering, "The Stench of Redemption", can now be downloaded at the MP3 download site http://www.metaltracks.com. This also includes the hard-to-find bonus track "Black Night" (DEEP PURPLE cover). This precedes the release date of the album, which is due in stores on Tuesday, August 22 (one day earlier internationally) via Earache Records. The follow-up to 2004's "Scars of the Crucifix", "The Stench of Redemption" was recorded at Morrisound in Tampa, Florida and marks the first recording with the new DEICIDE lineup following the departure of the Hoffman brothers. Joining frontman Glen Benton and drummer Steve Asheim in the new formation are guitarists Jack Owen (ex-CANNIBAL CORPSE) and Ralph Santolla (ex-ICED EARTH, DEATH). A decent song, Not of This Earth!!! WOO! We got a killer lineup!!! This is probably why I enjoyed the CD. - Mon, 28 Aug 2006 1:04pm Edited: Tue, 29 Aug 2006 10:10pm

_Griphin_ User Info... | Well I found lyrics to one of the songs, Track #3... Desecration ========= Children of Satan it's time to bring pain Stand by your side when the Christians engaged Angelic pastures is where we will war Once and for all we will settle the score In the presence of God, Holy crosses inverted Retribution for what has been done by the churches With no warning the word of the lord is in question Preservation of life ever more, Desecration Holy men tremble insight of dismay Temples on fire and graves are displaced Wrek and defile their realm of disgust Christian religion is turned into dust In the presence of god, Holy crosses intverted Retribution for what has been done by the churches With no warning the word of the lord is in question Preservation of life ever more, Desecration Worship the devil and vanquish thy role Destroy the vision of God you were told Call on ones who invoke his disgrace Cast out his spirit in Lucifer's name Christian religion lies dead in decay Killing and conquered and turned into slaves What does it matter and what is it worth? Killing for Jesus to unify the earth Stand in the shadows and forced to believe Willingly die for the light of the weak He has forsake you and left you to rot Mass destruction the killing of God Jesus defeated and followers fled Heaven in ruins impaling the dead Holy Lord vanishes to where he knows not No more religion or go to begot --- Don't say a cross word about Glen!!! - Thu, 31 Aug 2006 1:05pm Edited: Thu, 31 Aug 2006 3:46pm
Platoon User Info... | DEICIDE - The Stench of Redemption CD Review The Triumphant return of the guitar solo. This album has been compared to the Death Metal monument known as Vital Remain's Dechristianize. The defining similarity lays in the epic melodic leads found on Dechristianize and the numerous melodic solos found on The Stench of Redemption. The ferocity of The Stench of Redemption is exactly what you would expect from this legendary Death Metal group comprised of Jack Owen, Steve Asheim, Glen Benton, and Ralph Santolla. To furthermore describe the aggression and intensity of this album would be to describe the double tracked death vocals, numerous guitar solos, endless blast beats, and pure Death Metal pace as an all out attack. The Stench of Redemption has been recieved as a triumphant return by fans who were disappointed with the last three albums. The Stench of Redemption's appeal has been wide as a growing number of fans continue to give positive feedback. Stand out tracks include but are not limited to: The Stench of Redemption, The Lord's Sedition, Crucified For The Innocence, and Death To Jesus. This album would be best reccomended for anyone who is interested in Death Metal. - Sat, 2 Sep 2006 9:56pm Edited: Sun, 3 Sep 2006 2:54am
Destroy_The_Flesh User Info... | I think that getting Ralph Santolla in the mix was the best thing they could have done, not that Suzuki wasn't awsome, but Santolla adds a new melodic dimension in the solo department. I think this lends enormously to the weight of the rythm tracks. Never thought Deicide would bounce back like this, very thankful they have. - Sun, 3 Sep 2006 7:02pm
jdsony User Info... | Yeah there are some sick lead licks on here. The ONLY thing I wish is that there were more of them but I really like the album and I didn't think I would. - Fri, 8 Sep 2006 3:53pm
