Platoon User Info... | Meatlocker Seven’s latest effort was released late last year. The two song EP included ‘One Under’ and ‘The Fire That Burns From Another Day’. Upon interviewing Meatlocker Seven lead Singer Bram Harvey, it was made clear that the lyrics were inspired by societal observations. ‘One Under’ is contains lyrics that refer to a term used by British mass transit train conductors who raise alarm when a suicidal person leaps onto the tracks to become another ‘one under’. ‘The Fire That Burns From Another Day’ is a little more personal and is inspired by a relationship or friendship that has inspired dark feelings of burning in memorium. Thus, if one can indicate that the lyrics are inspired by societal observations, the next logical observation will lead to their crushing, Gothenbourg influenced, melodic leads. The leads found on this EP are more than this reviewer was expecting and prove to put to shame most of the latest music coming out of the once crushing region. The music on this EP can be described as crushing, groove driven, melody with aggressive vocals, rhythms, and drumming. This is best recommended to fans of Thrash, Death, and Melodic Metal.
