Well I just picked this up, great DVD that comes with it, thing is, the audio CD cannot be copied, so if you were thinking about making a backup copy to your computer, good luck. However the audio does play and there is a way to copy live audio to your computer... - Fri, 13 May 2005 7:26pm

the only way that type of copy protection works is if you install the unnecessary software that the record label has included on the cd. i personally had no problem ripping the cd to mp3. great cd by the way. and the accompanying dvd is really cool the way they have the video, a live performance, and an interview for each song on the cd.

fyi, if you don't remember installing anything when you popped the cd into your drive, it's probably because your computer has "auto-run" turned on so they screwed you without you knowing it. - Sun, 22 May 2005 12:19pm

Oh, see I thought that was the reason (my DVD ROM auto-loads/runs stuff, I'd like to be able to turn this off), I thought they had scrambled the FAT table on the CD.

So I did some searching, and found the following link which DOES work in regards to defeating the Sunncomm protection: http://www.cs.princeton.edu/~jhalderm/cd3/. It's an Analysis of the MediaMax CD3 Copy-Prevention System.

It seemed to copy with no problems after doing what it says in the document. - Sun, 22 May 2005 2:24pm
