JasonLove User Info... | I'm just going to come right out and say it. I am a huge DMB fan, therefore, I am extreamly biased. -STAND UP- It just came out yesterday and I have listened to it about seven or eight times. I really dig the new direction the band has gone in. The producer is a fellow named Mark Batson. He is well know for his work as a "hip-hoper". It definitly shows on this album. Stand Up is more based around simple hip-hop grooves as opossed to the classic folk/rock/funk Dave Matthews thing. Alot more production for sure but the individuality of each band member still shines through. If have never liked the Matthews Band you should check this album out. I think you will like it. Then again, I think everyone should like Dave. One Love - Wed, 11 May 2005 1:18pm
wheate User Info... | Man, when is Dave gonna realize that what the world needs is an heir to the jam throne recently vacated by Phish. What the world doesnt need is another over-produced lifeless radio suck-up. I'd love more than anything to have heard Dave come out with a album with somewhere in the neighborhood of 8 songs all of which were over 6 minutes, and produced by Daniel Lanois. I think this will be the last time I publicly speak of Dave Matthews. Dave who? - Wed, 11 May 2005 6:12pm
JasonLove User Info... | NO! DON'T GIVE UP HOPE! Yes, Phish was great. Yes, we need another jam band. But the last thing we need is for Dave Matthews Band to fill that void. If they put out another album like some of the early ones (Under The Table, Crash, BTCS, ect.) everyone would complain about how it's the same. They are just trying new directions. Plus their live shows have mad jams. (Did anyone go to the Gorge this year? It was MONEY!) There is my stubborn defence of DMB. P.S. If you dig Phish you might like Dave's solo album. ("Some Devil") Trey Anistasio plays on it. - Fri, 13 May 2005 9:31am

YouEnjoyMyself User Info... | The new album is nowhere near any of the albums from the 90's in my opinion. It's good, but I don't think I could possibly listen to it as much as I've listened to UTTAD and BTCS. Batson did an ok job, but a little more jammy, little less poppy would be nice eh? And I was considering going to see them at the gorge this year, but I think I'm gonna pass. I saw them down there in 2003 and the crowd was the shits. Ten thousand meatheads who don't give a fuck about what dmb's playing, they just wanna hear crash into me, and hope that it'll make their girlfriends horny enough to fuck em that night. - Mon, 16 May 2005 9:17pm
Joshua Hooligan User Info... | Yeah, it would be cool if someone would take on the task of heir to the jam band throne but what we really need is someone to take on the immensely articualate muscial vocation of HEIR TO THE JIMMY BUFFET THRONE That, my friends, is our hope, if the future of music has any hope at all. count it. Jimmy dug on the mushroom tea. Who will take his place? I will leave you with that. - Wed, 18 May 2005 6:45am
