john User Info... | I first heard these guys about a month ago, opening for hot hot heat at logan's. They put on a really rad show, full of energy and sounding great. To me, their show upstaged hot hot heat's, I instantly went up to their merch table and got their ep. The ep is full of "post-punk influenced" indie rock and one of the best eps ive heard in a while. anyone else's thoughts? - Mon, 28 Feb 2005 9:48am
Plum Smuggler User Info... | Shut up. - Mon, 28 Feb 2005 6:39pm
The One After Two User Info... | solid effort. The EP could benifit from better production but the song writing is superior and the tracks jump out at you and have you humming along... sing by the second listen. If you like these guys be sure to check out Richmond post-alters In Medias Res. http://www.imr.ca . - Mon, 28 Feb 2005 9:39pm
john User Info... | Im excited to see them again with dfa and controller.controller - Tue, 1 Mar 2005 11:44am
wordsaredumb User Info... | "anyone else's thoughts?" well since you asked, anyone who uses "post-punk influenced indie rock" as a description for music is gay. and not just regular gay. more like touching little boys gay. - Tue, 1 Mar 2005 1:27pm
john User Info... | well actually if you read the post correctly you would notice "post-punk influenced" is a quote, i suppose if you read that correctly you wouldnt be so rash in labelling anybody "gay, and not just regular gay. . .", your blatant homophobia is nearly unthinkable and truly sad. Regardless I'm sorry to have used a quote that must have offended you so much... please accept my apology. - Tue, 1 Mar 2005 4:41pm
[+} User Info... | one, did you compare elizabeth to IMR? that's a weird one.. - Tue, 1 Mar 2005 9:43pm
Nik Olaz User Info... | john i think he was making fun of the band and not you. - Wed, 2 Mar 2005 1:52am
john User Info... | well thats even worse, their pretty good. but moreover i just thought itd be funny to reply to that. regardless, homophobic remarks make me sad. - Wed, 2 Mar 2005 9:45am
mark User Info... | John, I agree that their EP is stupendous! We should carpool up to Nanaimo to see them. Oh no, that might make us gay. - Wed, 2 Mar 2005 10:01am
wordsaredumb User Info... | "your blatant homophobia is nearly unthinkable and truly sad" you asked for peoples thoughts and those were mine.. congragulations. you've been promoted from boy toucher gay to hasselhoff gay. quite an honour! - Wed, 2 Mar 2005 12:19pm
The One After Two User Info... | [+}, I am a big fan of both groups. They don't sound the same but I think they have a similar indie rock feel. Sorry wordaredumb to use that adjective, I don't want you to throw man-love slurs at me too :-) IMR have a little more Coldplay going on and less of the dance beats that elizabeth have. They both just have a similar vibe to me... that all. - Wed, 2 Mar 2005 3:27pm
john User Info... | well, thank you then. I guess I will take that as a compliment. - Wed, 2 Mar 2005 9:52pm
[+} User Info... | imr is way more freakout. haven't seen elizabeth yet, but i doubt that they have the same presence. - Wed, 2 Mar 2005 10:48pm
The One After Two User Info... | "imr is way more freakout. haven't seen elizabeth yet, but i doubt that they have the same presence." See thats funny, b/c I hear a lot of Coldplay in IMR's recorded music :-) Elizabeth are big fans of IMR. I think you'll enjoy Elizabeth when they come to town if you like the IMR. Elizabeth could use a little punch in the face for the their stage show but IMR have been around much longer to work out the kinks. - Thu, 3 Mar 2005 11:17am
[+} User Info... | see.. counting heartbeats are good friends with IMR. and from what i've seen, they are very much rock-the-stage-and-flip-out sort of music. but i'll have to hear elizabeth. for sure. - Wed, 9 Mar 2005 4:58pm
