Lightfoot's latest, with a picture of him looking thin, old and tired in his living room in T.O., sounds thin, old and tired! too bad, a great Canadian legend has lost his voice. But thanx for all the other excellent albums, Gord, such as "Sit Down Young Stranger" (1975?), "Back Here on Earth" (1968), and "Gords Gold", "Endless Wire", and the excellent live recording at The Riverboat in T.O., (1969), entitled " Sunday Concert".
Cohen's latest also sounds old and thin and tired. His earlier works, though, are all great. "Death of a Lady's Man," Leonard Cohen", Suzanne, First We Take Manhatten, etc. all great to listen to!
Dylan's best, in many folk's opinion, are: "Desire" (1975), John Wesley Harding, (1967), and Nashville Skyline, (1968). of course, his very early " Bob Dylan", 1961, and the 1963 album," Blonde on Blonde, are all excellent as well. in fact, except for his latest 2 albums, where he is wearing the pancake makeup ( see what L.S.D. does to your head, boys 'n' girls?) these albums are not good, the rest of all of his entire body of work is just great. but, if ya don't own "Desire, J.W. Harding, or Nashville Skyline", run our and buy them!!! ENJOY! - Wed, 1 Dec 2004 9:49am

but lets not forget the more obscure but still classics like "New Morning" and of course the greates Dylan album of all: "Blood on the Tracks". I have had more relationships ruined by my steadfast refusal to listen to anything but Bob Dylan for months on end.

And speaking of which, has anyone read his new book, "Chronicles, Volume 1"? Very wordy and rambling but still a great memoir from a very great man. I can't wait for the other two. Here's hoping we all see him live again.

blonde on blonde was 1966 not 1963. times they are a changin is 1963. nashville skyline is 1969. dylan's last two are very fine records: time out of mind and love and theft.
the first 6 albums: dylan(61), freewheelin(62), times they are a changin (63), another side of bob dylan(64), bringing it all back home(65), highway 61(65), and blonde on blonde(66) are a must and sort of wraps up an era (he apparently had a bike accident and dissapeared till the john wesley harding album in 67). - Tue, 4 Jan 2005 10:53am
