Akylore User Info... | Very worthy album. But being that Proscriptor appears on this album and being a big Absu fan (Tara being in my top 10) I bought the album immediately. Dubbing themselves 'Mesopotamian Metal' is appropriate since Melechesh mixes in a lot of Meditteranean melodies with their songwriting (especially on 'Tablets of Fate.') The drumming isn't as insane as Absu's 'Tara' but it's very precise and controlled. And the occultish nature of the lyrics explains his prescence too. Andy LaRoque actually makes an appearance on this album too (also produced it.) Although the musicians are really good at what they do, apart from some cool off-time things they pull off here and there, I wouldn't call it a technical album, rather, it's the feeling and atmosphere that stands out the most (for me at any rate.) Check it out. 8.5/10 - Thu, 5 Feb 2004 1:18pm
SOS Jesse User Info... | Christ on his manger, why do you always have to out-'metal' me with this absurd shit I've never heard of. For the love of Jesus, man... I can't even pronounce the name of this band you speak of. Reminds me of the time when you were like, "Dude, have you heard Anorexia Nervosa?" and I just shook my head, thinking "What!?" - Thu, 5 Feb 2004 3:35pm
