Jason User Info... | If you've ever heard these guys before you know what to expect. For me this picks up right where there last one left off. Infact I think I was hoping for a bit more of a progression but the new one still sounds pretty damn good. If I had to describe there over all sound, I'd say they blend a bunch of metal styles, even (gasp!) nu-metal together. The jumping between styles can some times feel a bit disjointed but there's no doubt Into Eternity have crafted a high quality product. With the exception of the drummer, all of the musicians in the band are top notch (and even more impressive live). It's probably cause I've become used to hearing mind blowing drumming from my favorite metal bands, but Into Eternity's drummer just seems mediocre compared with the level of musicianship from the rest of the band. The vocals have bits of death growls and screams but the majority of it is delivered in what I could best describe as power metal, meaning actual singing. Bassist is great, good sense of melody and the guitars are on fucking fire. If that's not good enough for ya, they some how achieved all of this while living in Saskatchewan. All in all this is a good album. There's some shit I could leave behind, but the good songs on the album are VERY good. - Sun, 1 Feb 2004 2:09pm
Akylore User Info... | I liked their debut, I'll have to check this one out.... - Mon, 2 Feb 2004 11:35am
Neil User Info... | Got this on friday and would have to agree with most aspects of Jason's review. I'd just like to add that while this disc is not much different from the last one (Maybe a positive maybe a negative, take it as you will) the production is in a new league and that makes it eminently more listenable. - Mon, 2 Feb 2004 12:42pm
Akylore User Info... | No shit?! 'Cause I thought the production was amazing on the debut, you could hear the bass guitar very well (somewhat rare on a lot of metal CD's these days) damn, I've spent so much money, but I guess I'll just have to pick this gem up... - Thu, 5 Feb 2004 9:51am
