ENIGMATICA ENTERTAINMENT User Info... | The Toasters are proud to have back trumpeter Lord Sledge for their tour and new album Enemy of the System. Lord Sledge has been described by his fans as one of the hottest trumpet player in the business. Some of you may recognize him as the trumpeter of the world renown ska band The Toasters, but Lord Sledges musical background stems from a nearly 30 year history of swing and jazz. He performed his first swing concert with his family swing band Bill Sledge & His 5 Hammers. By the time he was 15 he had played a solo duet with the world famous trumpeter Harry James, at the Roseland Ballroom in New York. It was that performance that sparked Lord Sledges interest in opening a swing club in NY. Throughout his career Lord Sledge has performed with a plethora of musical giants such as Wynton Marcalis, Lionel Hampton Big Band and Illinois Jacquet Big Band. Currently he is the co- leader, and trumpeter for his own original Doo-Wop group "The Soul Shakers As far as playing with ska bands on records these are some of the many Lord Sledge has played with RECORD ACCOMPLISHMENTS The Toasters NY Ska Jazz Ensemble The Skatalites Skinner Box Stubborn Allstars Eastern Standard Time King Chango Tommy McCook King Bravo The Phillidelphia Project Lord Sledge and the rest of the Toasters will be appearing in Victoria on Saturday, January 10, 2004 for the first time ever.
