brad User Info... | .In the face of the pigs who brutalized our freinds and comrades last week in wonderful downtown victoria(visit victoria indy media at: http://victoria.indymedia.org for more info), ROCK THE SYSTEM presents an ultra intense evening of socially political bands which cover a variety of styles happening in the underground today. This show features DESCENSION a Crust/Black Metal/Grind outfit from Vancouver. Also on the agenda are victoria anarcho punk rock superstars THE PROLES Everyone who's anyone knows and loves the blasting apocalyptic hardcore of BURY WHAT'S DEAD And finally victoria's ISKRA will be attacking your eardrums with their very own brand of crust/black metal. Note: People are allowed to move around (i.e., dance) at this show. But no alcohol in the building please. DO IT YOURSELF: CREATE ANARCHY! - Wed, 26 Nov 2003 6:03pm

james User Info... | Just thought i'd post this review from a show some of these bands played at the 50/50 back in October....hope this one ends up being as good. This was the one of the best shows i've been to in years. First up was Bury What's Dead who wield a brutal attack on the senses. victoria is privileged to have such a powerful unit with ideas to back it up. The triple vocals work in an amazing way. Excellent songs in a crusty post hardcore sound. The Proles offered 77 style anarcho-punk which sounded like early crass records bands. Fucking awesome. They had the energy and conviction necessary to pull it off with grace and style. Iskra finished up with a brutal onslaught of metal riffs and mayhem. This band must have the most intense vocals in town! They unfortunately played a brief set as the show had to close down at midnite. The crowd participation on this night was a rare treat for Victoria. When was the last show where we had a full dance floor? People went crazy! This was the final touch for me. All in all an awesome show! Looks like we have a new wave of political bands. - Sun, 26 Oct 11:51am - Thu, 27 Nov 2003 1:30pm

hungry heffer User Info... | considering the bands..and probably most everyone who comes to the show will be anti-violence..non-racist, non-sexist, etc. i'm sure you'll have nothing to worry about. it sounds scary Ross...but they are all a bunch of really nice people...I happened upon the 50/50 show these bands played, and was totally impressed with how responsible the crowd was, no assholes and no intimidation...just a great show. - Tue, 2 Dec 2003 4:49pm
