VICTORIA BC SKA SOCIETY User Info... | Come out to Steamers Pub on Friday, September 26, 2003 when ENIGMATICA ENTERTAINMENT presents a mixed grab bag of three awesome acts performing in a variety of genres. TWO AND A HALF WHITE GUYS are proud to make their first apperance in Victoria since Victoria's 2nd Annual Ska Festival at Ships Point. They play conscious reggae, dub, rocksteady and ska. Two and a Half White Guys who hail from Provo, Utah have played a lot with many ska and reggae greats such as the Skatalites, the Slackers and Chris Murray. Their new CD is both extremely entertaining and musically sound with a variety of songs with some collaboration with Chris Murray. They are sure to please any reggae, dub, ska lover. Don't miss this rare appearance by this band. Toronto based GREENLAW AVE. have now become a permanent fixture in Victoria's local music scene. Lead singer Skyla has an amazing voice with the supporting band that also has Ozzie from Victoria's legendary Digg. Their soul, jazz, R&B and dub will give a refreshing flavour to this bill. They are also very versatile in being able to collobarate with a variety of musicians including Ndidi Cascade who will be playing at this show with them. NDIDI CASCADE is a Vancouver hip-hop MC who has blessed the same stage as Femi Kuti, Coco Brovas, Culture, K-os, Prevail, Kardinal Offishall, Choclair and Malcolm Jamal Warner. This woman of Nigerian/Italian/ Irish descent has been captivating audiences with her remarkable stage presence, deep socio-political insight and tight flow since 1996. She also facilitates youth workshops using hip-hop as a medium to deal with self-esteem, racism, sexism, and other social issues. She currently tours locally with the collective Triple Three and The Movement (including diva GREENTarA), as well as the powerful soul singer Deanna Teeple and visionary spoken word artist Emmanuel Adjei-Achampong. She also works with the VanCity hip-hop artists Kia Kadiri and Shankhini of Wild Seed Records. Ndidi Cascade dedicates her music to the Divine Love and Light within all of us!
