Livevic Scott User Info... | Hey Griphin, where else would they play other then Sugar? And the show's June 1 - Sat, 21 Apr 2007 8:29pm
_Griphin_ User Info... | What about Curling Club?!? Sugar is a horrible venue if you don't drink ($3 for a bottle of water?!?), I wouldn't trust the free water in that place, who's to say someone doesn't slip something in the free water?!? (Yeah I know it hasn't happened yet.) - Sat, 21 Apr 2007 9:33pm Edited: Sat, 21 Apr 2007 9:35pm
Ty Stranglehold User Info... | The posters definitely say June 1st. I'd much rather see them in Sugar than the Curling Club. I rarely drink at Sugar either (do I look like I'm made of fuckin' money?). Not to mention that the bottles of water at Social Distortion were $2 and they didn't even give you the bottle (you wound up with 3/4 of a bottle poured in a cup). NMN rules, and I never miss them when they come home. - Sun, 22 Apr 2007 11:01am
tyler User Info... | their not big enough to play the curling club but they would kill if they played white eagle hint hint atomique you need some sort of underage person too work for you so you think about the kids and not the old farts yah anyone 19 and older is a fart only 2 years till im a fart - Sun, 22 Apr 2007 3:01pm
Livevic Scott User Info... | Its true they're not big enough to play the Curling Club, setup costs at that venue are through the roof. It's 8-10 grand in venue and production costs, plus your promotion and talent costs. As for AA shows, they cost about 3-4 times that of a bar show to set up and are about 2-3 times the amount of work labour wise. Not that money is the only driving factor, god knows i've thrown enough all ages shows in my life but due to the relitively sketchy turnouts from youth when some of the promoters in town have tried to open up "bigger" names to the AA crowd, alot of them are wary of kicking down the increased costs. Especially since as soon as they make something AA, the over 19 crowd won't come because they can't get a beer at the show. And you can blame the provincial government and their 100 year old liquor laws for that whole issue. - Sun, 22 Apr 2007 5:20pm
Sati User Info... | Woah, will you look at that, I COULD fix the title! I thought Nev had screwed that up... so he's not such a putz afterall... :) I hope your NMN shows are more slamming than ours. After seeing them once in Texas, I've always thought it sad how mellow our crowds are in comparison. And sometimes annoying (he's always gotta kick someone in the head for being a twit). And Married to Music never did much for me but they were pretty damn good too, last time I saw them. Enjoy! - Sun, 22 Apr 2007 5:44pm Edited: Sun, 22 Apr 2007 5:45pm
POlski Ogorki User Info... | What if they played a Friday night and a Saturday night show at somewhere rad, like say Lucky Bar. I also wish they had better opening bands, I haven't enjoyed any of their opening acts since Andre's Last Chance at the Ice House. - Mon, 23 Apr 2007 11:50am
