Brown is a multi-talented artist whose skilled bass playing, five-octave vocal range and hooky songwriting are quickly establishing her as one of the most refreshing voices on the Canadian music scene. Her self-titled debut marks her leap from underground sensation to ready-for-the-world chanteuse with a blend of soul, R & B and hip-hop grooves (thanks to the influence of rapper/producer Saukrates). After years spent on the R & B club circuit as well as that toughest of training grounds, the theatrical stage (Brown has tread the floorboards in Mama, I Wanna Sing, Rent and the Fats Waller musical Ain't Misbehavin'), Divine Brown's time has come.
