They Might Be Giants’ FLOOD
Where? Astoria Pub When? March 9th, 2011. How much? Cover $7-10 (affordable even if you’re on Minimum Wage!) Doors at 9:00pm http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=176744605702835&ref=ts#!/event.php?eid=176744605702835 Do you want a rock? We sure did! That’s why Edmonton comedian Wes Borg (Three Dead Trolls in a Baggie) called up a couple of friends from Victoria and is hauling ‘em along to the Astoria Pub on March 9th! We are NOT whistling in the dark here! Lovingly reproducing They Might Be Giants’ classic hit album, FLOOD, from beginning to end, The Particle Band are bringing this inaugural show of Wes‘s Cover to Cover: Victoria Covers… concert series across the pond to play for the Vancouver masses. Fronted by Borg, The Particle Band are rounded out with Grayson Walker (Hearse, MD Wren & the Sick Kids), Rad Juli (Carolyn Mark), Tolen McNeil (Tolen McNeil, Carolyn Mark), Terri Upton (beekeeper, Carolyn Mark), Suzanne Stirling (Bucan Bucan) and special guest appearance by Charles AND YOU! Yes, you! Starting with the Theme from Flood and working their way through Birdhouses, ugly pants, taking a sapphire love bullet and ending with a road movie to Berlin, there isn’t a tune missed from this musical wonder by They Might Be Giants. And before The Particle Band take the stage, Vancouver musicians and comedians will be warming you all up on these winter days with their renditions of non-FLOOD TMBG songs. Everyone seems has a story of how this album affected their lives. Come let us affect you some more with it, LIVE at the Astoria! So why is the world in love again? Why do they go marching hand in hand? Why are the ocean levels rising up? It’s not brand new, but it is the loved by all album, FLOOD. If you’re wondering where Hot Cha is, it’s at the Astoria! So come on, Women & Men, bring your lucky ball & chain and do some Twisting! We promise no one will move your chair and you won’t need a Hearing Aid afterward! For more information, please contact Wes Borg at wesborg at gmail.com. - Mon, 28 Feb 2011 5:36am Edited: Mon, 28 Feb 2011 5:38am | ||
