January 25, 2010: Canoe Brewpub Burns Night Party
Inspiring bold John Barleycorn, What dangers thou canst make us scorn! Wi' tippenny, we fear nae evil; Wi' usquebae, we'll face the devil!
Robert Burns

This January 25, McGillicuddys start a new tradition: our very own Burns Night Party at the Canoe Brewpub. There'll be no penny pinching allowed - no cover charge for this one - as McGillicuddys and our special guest, Pipe Major Steve Kelly, bring you a psycho ceilidh to remember. The fun begins with the toast to the haggis at 8:00, followed by drinking, dancing and... haggis eating. The pub requests that you kindly leave your cabers at home. kilts not manditory, but encouraged. - Thu, 14 Jan 2010 3:02pm

CELTIC ROCK

What: The McGillicuddys (with piper Steve Kelly)

Where: Canoe Brewpub (450 Swift St.)

When: Monday, 8 p.m.

Tickets: Free

Why: Of the best ways to celebrate Robbie Burns Day, a party with local Celtic rockers the McGillicuddys ranks high on the list. The group will be at the Canoe Brewpub on Monday armed with loads of Scottish-themed miscellany, including haggis (which is being piped into the building at 8 p.m.) and a guest appearance by Pipe Major Steve Kelly during the McGillicuddys' set.
