Stinky McScruff User Info... | This was a benefit for the Cannabis Buyers Club. I want to say to all who missed it, shame on you! It was at Logan's and King Bong, Zola Bud and the delegates put on a hell of a show. This is an important and positive movement (CBC). They provide a very necessary service for ailing people who need it. They pick up where our government feels inclined to take steps backwards. If you weren't there, I want to know why? - Sun, 21 Dec 2003 2:50pm
XY-SATAN User Info... | Well I guess you should've advertised it better . I'm just curious where the money for the benefit goes ? - Sun, 21 Dec 2003 3:27pm
troutbreath User Info... | Excuse me, but to promote this show we did everything short of sending Sticky Kola running down Douglas St. wearing a Santa Hat and his Birthday suit. You should consider yourself fortunate. - Sun, 21 Dec 2003 6:18pm
_Griphin_ User Info... | aCk... I totally feel bad for missing that, but well, work sux :) The compassion club may help people, but they also take advantage of people who know nothing about buying from other sources. I totally support Ted or that "person" who runs the Oak Bay Compassion club, to a point. And I still can't see how marijuana can help ailments, all it does to me is flares up my anxiety attacks, albeit not as much as some weeks. - Sun, 21 Dec 2003 8:10pm
SweetGrass User Info... | Griphin, I'm sure that my voice will not be the only one to respond to your post and I'll leave the details of where exactly monies go to those who can break it down for you most efficiantly. I would like to say (and I'm trying not to be reactive here) medical marijuana is not just to help head aches and stiffness. People who are in wheelchairs, hospice beds, are H.I.V. positve, and a variety of other chronic ailments turn to Cannibis in order to lessen their pains, find their appetite to stay stronger and fight, balance the poisons from chemo-therapy/ radiation and not vomit constantly. Medical journals recommend the use of Marijuana to help with the chronic pain of Rheumatoid Arthritis and Muscular Dystrophy just to name a few. I was much less aware of the importance of work like Ted Smith is doing until I started performing at these benefits and meeting the faces of users of Medical marijuana. It has changed how I personally feel about the fight to legalize pot for medicinal purposes. No one should be made to feel like a criminal for receiving medicene! I encourage everyone to come to a show like this or talk to someone at the Compassion Club, because until you've walked a mile in someone else's shoes we are just talking about "pot ". I don't mean to sound to sound preachy, however I hope to encourage you to find out more for yourself. We also had a kick- ass time, the bands gave great performances and it was an excellent way to start the holiday cheer. The Delegates were fantastic, check them out on Monday at Lucky. Cheers, S.G. - Sun, 21 Dec 2003 9:53pm
Bong User Info... | First, not so harsh to the people who could not make it! We had a full house, everyone had a good time, and we made a little money for the club 1. All proceds go to the Cannabis Buyers Club legal fund. Every time the club gets 'radied' the police steal all the medicine and all the money that is used to buy more medicine.THIS PUTS THE 1,500 SICK AND DYING MEMBERS INTO CENTENNIAL SQUARE LOOKING TO HOOK UP WITH ONE OF THOSE OTHER SOURCES! Usually criminal sources who sell unclean weed at inflated prices. The club is a not for profit organization. The current legal fund, which is used to defend the people who volunteer at the club, is at $25,000 plus. That's were Saturday night profits went. 2. If you have never seen the direct benefit from cannabis use you shoud spend some time in a hospice or some time down at the club. Direct experience is really the best teacher. The people at the club are very friendly and would welcome your interest and the opportunity to show you the truth about this simple effective medicene. 3.For promo we did a giant Monday ad, the center picture in the Monday calander section, plus mentions on all the other local media..I think we promo'd it well..and the fact is we did a brisk steady trade at the door with people coming in to check out their favorite band and then movin on to another party! By the time Bong hit the stage we were close to capacity!. Finally, We had no trouble what so ever! No one smoked anything in the bar or on Logan's premisis. No violence, a full house, all the bands were awesome, gave away some great prizes, and now this little monkey is all tired out... Thanks to all who helped out and a big thanks to all the great bands who played! See ya all on January 31st @ Steamers for the KINGBONG CD release party with special guests GREENLAW AVE! Happy Holiday's from the KINGBONG COLLECTIVE!!!!! PS DON'T MISS THE DELEGATES @ LUCKY TONIGHT WITH ONEDROP!!!! - Mon, 22 Dec 2003 8:25am

Bong User Info... | No insult taken dude..just trying to answer your question...cause Logan's is gettin serious about counting heads these days..if your event will drawn more than 150 ..don't put it at Logans, hopefully they will get their licence bumped up to the 300 it should be, but the booze cops are watching every one heavily these days...and shutting you down if you violate any codes! Hope your show went well Wreaker! Peace, Kola - Mon, 29 Dec 2003 8:25am
