Dan Conner User Info... | Wow! I havent seen DB in a while... Vendors played a VERY short set, and it wasnt one of their better shows, but was still tons of fun (although the crowd wasnt into it, except for like 5 kids trying to mosh)... Well over 130 people, which was cool... Delta breaking, who I havent seen for 6 months or so, BLEW ME AWAY! terrific! Lots of good tunes, and high energy, although the crowd STILL wasnt in to it that much (they did get a couple stage divers) It was pretty cool, and for $2, I couldn't have wasted my time better. Hopefully, I'll be playing with the guys on the 12th! Dan Conner - Sat, 29 Nov 2003 2:15pm
Joni User Info... | The show was interesting, to say the least. I missed most of the vendors' set, but managed to catch all of delta breaking. Neither band particularly blew me away, but it was worth the $2 all the same. It was unnerving that at age 17, I was the oldest person there. No joke, except for the plethora of parents that hovered around... there was no shortage of them, to say the least. But it's good that somebody's trying to foster the scene out here, there's a lot of kids that are starting to go to shows and it's often tough to make it out to places like Garry Oak and Fernwood, especially if you're travelling by bus. My only real complaints were about the sound system (sucked, the microphones kept cutting out) and the lack of concert manners - sure, it's ok to act a little silly and have a good time, but the excessive toilet paper brigade just took things too far. Bottom line - I wish they had done that kind of stuff when I went to Dunsmuir. - Sat, 29 Nov 2003 6:57pm
colin stewart User Info... | hey, this was somewhere in the western communities wasnt it? 3 of us from liu family tigers graduated from Dunsmuir and Belmont, so it would be nice to do something out there sometime if your interested. contact me if your going to do another show out there after the new year. - Sun, 30 Nov 2003 1:03pm
Joni User Info... | Yes indeed, the show was held at Dunsmuir. That's rad that three of you guys are from out here, I had no idea. Actually, we've held a couple of shows outdoors at Belmont and plan to have a few more when spring rolls around again... they won't let us have the shows inside because apparently both gyms and the drama room are booked 24/7. Lame. But the outdoor ones are pretty well-appreciated by the students, and if you'd like to play (we'd love to have you!) feel free to send me an e-mail at [email protected] - Mon, 1 Dec 2003 12:01pm
