| _Griphin_ User Info... | OK, here's my scene report (i'm pissed).. Got there around 9:30, grabbed a beer and chilled. Then people from bands I knew showed up. BTW: Thumbs down to the City of Victoria, there gunning for Logans to go under, and that's not fair. There's this Improving the City conference happening in the city, and it annoys me that Logans gets a heat score, over some moron flinging a full beer can at a cop vehicle, which happened to be passing/driving down Cook street at the time?!? But alas, I babble... OK, so Ingrates start the set, they ROCKED!!! but I missed half the set, anyhow. Then Hoosgow take the stage, Ty in his prison uniform, and knocking back a shot of Tequila half way thru the set (BTW: Thx to whoever did that), funniest moment of the night, apparently the guitar amp hums, and it knocks whatever is on the speaker down to the floor, so kiss Ty's Sleemens goodbye, but that's a good thing cause Sleeman's SUCKS COCK!!! :), other then that, what can I say about their set, it rocked too. I still don't get why they haven't released a demo CD, cause there always good, not a disappointment here. At this point, I was getting loaded, and running into a ton of people I haven't seen for awhile, hell even Jesus from the Dayglo's showed up. I was totally impresed, it was THAT good a turnout. Next up... Mr. Plow, which I ignored, but I did buy a CD from him and it ROX!!!, nuff respect... Last up, AWT!!! And man, these guys ROCKED!!! Such a fun set, even the pit was full. Needless to say, I'm always impressed. BTW Jason, yeah that message, it's pathetic, but go figure... that msg was from the heart!!! | jay brown User Info... | Had a blast, drank a lot, hung with a lot of friends, watched Ty get just stupid drunk, nice to finally see the Ingrates been waiting for that one for a while. Mr. Plow always rules, so fuckin funny. The other two, well I play in them and we all had a blast on stage so I guess we did all right. All in all I think it was a great show, had a bunch of friends that couldnt get in cause of the lineup, so that sucked, but theres not much we could do about that. Fucking city has a stick up it's ass about some things. At least with the way the patio is now nobody will be throwing anything at cop cars anymore. I'd have to say thats probably for the best anyways. | jen User Info... | Happy Birthday Ty! I had such a great time at that show! Mr. Plow completely blew me away. His set was probably the best set that I have seen in a LONG time. Golden Shower Girls is a song that goes straight to my heart! It's really too bad that we don't have a bigger venue to avoid problems like that line-up. The Shitty Of Victoria Bylaw Police really could be spending their time better than busting local businesses like Logan's for being successful. Best birthday party EVER!!!!! | S.V. User Info... | I was one of the unfortunates who arrived too late. Over 25 people were lined up outside by the time I arrived, so I quickly bailed. Too freaking cold to hang outside praying enough people would leave before all the bands had finished playing. So Logans'...what are the chances of increasing your capacity any time soon? | _Griphin_ User Info... | It seems strange, there's the back area (where the pool tables used to be) they could set a stage up in, which would greatly improve the max. capacity of Logan's, but apparently they have to re-apply to the City of Victoria to get the licence changed (has to do with dimensions of the establishment, or something odd like that). The smoking patio thing (only 20 people max) is another enigma, apparently the city wants it closed by 10 pm. When I got there around 9:30 pm, it wasn't too full, I think it started filling up just after the first band started (just after 10pm). | Chris Logan User Info... | Our capacity issue is a little fucked up right now, but we're getting things fixed. We are supposed to close the patio at ten, which is retarded, if only for the smokers. To get that rule changed we'd have to make an application to city council, much like we had to do to be able to stay open till one.
