God Forbid: Gay. They don't even deserve a full sentence...

Lamb of God: So fucking rad. Played predominantly tunes off the new disc. 8-10 songs in all, I think (45 min. set). Opened with "Ruin" others included: 11th Hour, As the Palaces Burn, Purified, Black Label, Boot Scraper, In the Absence of the Sacred, The Subtle Arts of Murder and Persuasion.
Hahaha so I'm situated directly in front of the stage (1st row), getting crushed against the gate and headbanging furiously when I hear a faint "Hey man you're in Gross Misconduct!" It was Daryl from Pariah, and let me tell ya, we did some head-banging. And some fist pumping. It was rad. I ran into Bram from ML7 as well. Good to see some familiar faces after pretty much not seeing anyone from the Island scene in a while.

Shadow's Fall: Decent, and I can see how lots of people like them. Not my thing at all, however their drummer was very solid. Lamb of God's singer came out and sang with them during "Destroyer of Senses". All in all, they're pretty good, but not my thing.

Killswitch Engage: I heard from a few people that they were nu-metal, so I didn't bother. I decided to go home and tend to my fucked up ribcage. Got a rad LOG shirt for 20 bucks.

Good times. - Sat, 15 Nov 2003 9:50am

I was thoroughly impressed with both Lamb Of God and Shadows Fall. Definitely the kinda show I needed to see, really stoked me up on playing metal! Wish I coulda ran into the other Island Metallers though, we definitely should set up shows in the new year. - Sat, 15 Nov 2003 12:58pm

hhhmmmmm.... i've been trying to trade or sell off a lamb of god shirt from their "as palaces burn" album. it's new never worn, i picked it up one of the last times they played seattle. i also have an old nile shirt that i got 3 or 4 years ago, with artwork from their first album on it. if you're interesting in either buying or trading anything for either of these shirts email me. (i figured this was as good of a post as any to put this on) - Sun, 16 Nov 2003 8:49pm

Killswitch Engage are not numetal. Probably the best band on that bill. - Mon, 17 Nov 2003 7:11am

Regret missing this show. Killwitch Engage isn't nu-metal at all but they do add a touch of Emo to their mix with the actual singing parts. Not too bad though like most of it. - Mon, 17 Nov 2003 1:26pm

Now I kind of regret not staying. My ribs got crushed during Lamb of God though, and it was best that I went home (yeah I'm a massive pussy). Just goes to show that you can't believe everything ya hear. What a noble concept. - Mon, 17 Nov 2003 2:49pm

Yeah, I was at the front for the C.O.F./Shadow's Fall/Killswitch Engage show at the Commodore show in July; that barricade is brutal!! I hated how the top of the barricade presses against the bottom of your ribs, I was sore for a couple days after that too.
I would've gone to this show if I lived in Van, but wouldn't have travelled for it. Lamb of God's not bad, but The Forsaken's way better in my opinion. Shadow's Fall tore it up when I saw them though, like John said I'm normally not into that sort of thing, but I love Shadow's Fall, probably because they're actually melodic and talented which is what most hardcore bands lack...
God Forbid were that bad, eh? Weird...I always heard good things about 'em...oh well.
I couldn't get into Killswitch engage when I saw them either...they weren't nu-metal by any means but defintely nothing exciting....
The Dimmu/Bodom show will be fucking amazing though.... - Tue, 18 Nov 2003 10:42am

i cant imagine that God Forbid would be anything but good. I am not really into that whole thrash-core sound but I totally dig God Forbid. Sad to hear.
