jen User Info... | Defenitely worth my money. The openers "The Hangmen" were pretty good. Solid rock and roll but nothing really spectacular in my opinion. They did what they were doing well but weren't pushing any boundaries i dont think. Social D opened up with Mommy's Little Monster and proceeded to rock the fuck out. They hit all of my favourites and threw in a few interesting covers and new song or two. I was impressed with the Jimmy Cliff cover but I would have to say that Ball and Chain was the icing on the fucking cake. In my opinion only 2 bad points outta the whole night... the amazingly high prices of the merch (35 bucks for a shirt?) and the cost of beer. Thanks to Jay at the Cobalt for his pre show hospitality. That place is always like home when I go to Van. - Fri, 12 Sep 2003 12:14am
Dave Allen @ LARGE User Info... | Man, being a young guy I didn't know what to expect from Mike Ness, all the stories I've heard of him had me thinking he would be a little sketchy. But man, even though he did single out a couple of over-zealous "hardcore baby boys" in the mosh pit, I really got where he was coming from. The guy's a fucking legend and in my opinion "hardcore" is whatever he tells me it is. Yeah, the show rocked, it was just a pleasant reminder that even though most of us give a hard time to any band that's had some success and been around a little while, holy fuck are they still doin' something right. - Fri, 12 Sep 2003 1:04pm
