Weird I can't seem to find a thread anywhere on this show!

KILLER time!! Mantic Ritual ... I don't like them, the end, hanging out in the Market on Yates proved a better time. Krisiun crushed as expected. Not my favourite material on their recent albums (the first 3 slay - after that ...), but LIVE?? ... amazing!! 3rd time's a charm and I'm already looking forward to their return to these parts later this year. Destruction were AWESOME! excellent show-men and all the material (OLD and surprisingly NEW) sounded great. I loved the use of all three mics. A fucking POWER trio if I've ever seen one.

Post pictures and videos!!

I had to sneak out for a bit during Destruction .. can anyone post their set list?? Just so I know what I missed.

When I came back in they played Curse The Gods, Nailed to the Cross, Mad Butcher, and Total Desaster in a row!! - Sun, 22 Mar 2009 11:56am

I don't get why people like German power metal from bands like Destruction. Look, Accept do a better job, get over it :) - Sun, 22 Mar 2009 10:21pm Edited: Sun, 22 Mar 2009 10:21pm

Destruction.. powermetal? what? They are nothing like Accept and arent even close to powermetal. wow Griph..

Anyhow,, amazing show, missed Mantic Ritual but Krisiun were fucking amazing live (I was in lineup for them during the Dimmu / Wett Bar debacle )

Destruction were in fine form indeed.. I was wondering why they were going on so early, but the amount of songs they played was utterly Tuetonic! They were pulling material out from left right and center, Schmier was stil rippin out the old school screams that they seem to have abandoned on much of the newer material. And I agree the new material they did live was really good. The 3 mic setup was also a great idea with Schmier taking turns on all mics, singing a verse into one then going cross stage to finish the verse into the other. They just kept playing and seemed absolutely pleased with the Victoria scene and only a 3/4 full house. Their encore alone must have been 30 mins long.
Couldnt believe they even played Cracked Brain..

Thanks Dimitri! - Mon, 23 Mar 2009 10:12am

Do ya remember who was playing when we were in line then? I know I walked in and a band was just finishing a song, they had been allowed to play like 3 songs or something then Dimmu got their 25 mins.. a bit hazy on the details, was so long ago - Mon, 23 Mar 2009 6:04pm

Maybe it was Cryptopsy? I remember they got to play very briefly... when they had that other singer guy Martin Lacroix. A few of my friends just went for Krisiun and were super bummed they couldnt play so they bought lots of merch instead.

What a terrible show that was overall... haha - Mon, 23 Mar 2009 6:30pm
