Just wanted to thank everyone who came out to play and help out with the show. It was great. Thanks to Kyle, Gali, Tove, Jana & Henry, David P., Jay lap, All the guys from The Span, gashly Crumb, The Sensi-tones and everybody at Logan's 'booze temple'. It was a hell of a lot of fun.

Oh yeah, and the drunk jock guy who wanted to beat me up; thanks for making the night so much more interesting.

Cheers.

Hey, thanks Jesse for having us all out. Brand X Media is one swell on-line magazine. We had a lot of fun. I hope the girl we gave the autographed bananas to uses them wisely. - Sat, 2 Aug 2003 6:54pm

Thanks for the tip Dave! I never realized bringing a backup guitar to a gig was so "obnoxious". - Tue, 5 Aug 2003 4:56pm

Gee Dave, thanks for mentioning the banana holder. That WAS an embaressing moment that I was trying to put behind me. Other than that, I found your review of the bands good. Thanks fella. - Tue, 5 Aug 2003 6:05pm

Congrats to Brandxmedia.org's successful anniversary party. I couldn't be there as I was out of town that week but I'm stoked it was a success.

Cheers to Jesse and all who made it awesome!

Thanks everyone.

Tim - the wireless-gear *is* obnoxious, and having like six guitars for two guitarists is nothing short of excessive. At a benefit / party show. At Logan's.

Ahh well. Keep on truckin'. - Thu, 7 Aug 2003 10:33pm

Well, some people need their security blankets. An extra guitar does provide peace of mind, but I also remember seeing the Payolas and their 20 guitars (complete with road lackey coming out in between every song to switch them) and jeering at them. I dislike wireless gear because a) it's a needless expense b) it ofter doesn't work quite right and c) it changes the sound of your guitar just a bit. I played that same show on both guitar and banjo and didn't even have a spare string with me, so what do I know? One point to ponder, though. The Span-boys should mull over whether they really need all that stuff on the road; all it takes is one fuck up and some asshole could steal ALL of your gear and you would be left with zero guitars. Even though the gig was in Vic, they still had a lot of gear to keep track of, and the more gear you take to a show, the bigger the chance there is to lose something. - Fri, 8 Aug 2003 11:49am

I find it strange to think someone would be at a show going: "What's this? no patch cords? How obnoxious! Where does this joker get the nerve?"
I guess I don't get how gear can be obnoxious. Whatever works, right? - Fri, 8 Aug 2003 1:09pm

It was a bit too much gear. They aren't Led Zepplin.. they're just a local band at a small local show. I just wonder how they afforded all that nifty stuff. Good jobs or dad? - Fri, 8 Aug 2003 4:54pm

I thought they did a great set, wireless gear, extra guitars; or not, they did justice. I could go on and on and on about bands that come off as pretentious, but that would be knitpicking, in the typical livevic fashion. The span did a good set. - Fri, 8 Aug 2003 6:38pm

This is quite hilarious really..

If you're confident that millions of guitars and wireless gear are gonna enhance your performance, there ya go - do it!

Personally, i think it'd be better spent on a bubbz/r snow machine, but hey - that's me. And you're not me. =) - Sat, 9 Aug 2003 1:40pm

I agree with BXM; they played a real pro show, and if it were on a big stage in front of thousands of people it would have been just as good and nobody would have complained. Sometimes the indy scene is just a little precious... - Sat, 9 Aug 2003 6:40pm
