Cordova Bay User Info... | David Gogo once again showed his mettle on guitar. He brought the crowd to their feet twice during his half hour performance last night at the Royal Theatre. He proved once again that you don't have to play loud and fast to impress an audience. His version of "It's A Man's World" was fabulous. Not to be out-done, Little Feat breezed through a 2-hour 13 song show that brought smiles to most of those in attendance. Tight performances by the entire group showed just how great a band can sound when its members complement each other. Each member made the others look great. In this case the audience seemed to have as much fun as the band in front of them. - Mon, 23 Jun 2003 7:28pm

Anonymous | Do you remember the night that SRV played the Royal Theatre? Pretty amazing night in the little town of Victoria. - Mon, 23 Jun 2003 10:51pm
Anonymous | I heard Little Feat sucked - playing meandering crap all nite. - Tue, 24 Jun 2003 1:06am
MD | Little Feat did indeed suck. And they didn't even play Willin' just to show how far they've fallen after Lowell George died. - Tue, 24 Jun 2003 9:27am
old Feats fan | I disagree. The played very well considering their frontman and cheif songwriter diedtwenty odd years ago. Sure they jammed, that's their stock in trade now (and like Billy Payne said after the intro 16 minute version of "Day at the Dog Races", "That's what you get for booking us in a jazz festival"). "Willin'" is just too steeped in Lowell George for anyone else to pull off. As for Gogo I heartily disagree with the first post; Gogo is fast turning into a major embarrassment. His version of "Man's World" proved yet again that white people should never do James Brown songs (possible exception: the Residents) and his guitar soloing was the epitome of major wankage. I don't think he once played anything in a solo below the 10th fret and it was just wank, wank, wank, all night long; it's a good thing he was only masturbating on his guitar otherwise the first three rows would have been covered in spoo. "Hootchie Cootchie Man" was appalling, and when Gogo, ever the innovator, picked up his half empty Corona you just knew what was next; yes the obligatory beer bottle slide solo. The audience ate it up and even gave him a standing "O" at this point so what do I know. The only good tunes were the new ones off his latest coupla CD's and, predictably, had nothing whatsoever to do with "the blues". Crack band and all but what a waste. P.S. Sound for the Feats was not great, guitars were lost in the mix and Sam Claytons stentorian vocals were LOUD. I'm sure glad I got in free, $40 is a lot. - Tue, 24 Jun 2003 1:50pm
Anonymous | Ha - you are so wrong. Gogo was solid, the Feat totally wanked. - Tue, 24 Jun 2003 6:58pm
