cult | Well I didn't see John there but it is a shame because if he is really looking to represent victoria properly he would have wanted to see each of these bands.' It was great!!!! Who did you like the best? - Sat, 7 Jun 2003 4:13am

_Griphin_ User Info... | Ouch! I hurt today! :( (Yeah I was the person having too much fun in the front, it was awesome!!!). Gashly Crumb were great (finally got to see them live), Self Inflicted rocked as usual. But which bands played before them?!? I remember the 2 piece band where they played a rather large bass (which had wierd feedback problems) and a saw. Then there was the 5 piece made up of older gentlemen, they rocked too. The MC should of introduced the bands better. Then I lost my smokes (half pack too, grrr...) and left the gig covered in sweat. But I give it three thumbs up! So when is Gashly Crumb playing next?!? - Sat, 7 Jun 2003 6:01pm
Anonymous | what a great line up! I loved each band in a different way. The wooley mammothes had some super catchy beats *rockin*....Hank Pine and Lily Fawn.... totaly adorable and really good. I heard that there was a comic that went with their set, wish I could have seen it. Immaculate... great as ususal and I can't remember their name but the band that played the tom waits cover was good to. Gashly Crumb.... is fucking awsome and By the time self inflicted played I was exhausted but enjoyed them alot. - Sun, 8 Jun 2003 3:03am

kyle User Info... | Gashly Crumb will hopefully do a proper recording this summer. We're doing a show August 1st at Logan's, and we're also trying to put something together for early July (if anyone needs an opening act get in touch). Thanks and cheers to all who came out, it was a good time. - Sun, 8 Jun 2003 5:32pm

BBJones User Info... | I think I remember who everyone was... Wooly Mammoth opened up the show: Very young group that has some pretty cool style going on. I really loved watching the drummer swing into the kit. Very cool. Pretty decent stuff for a young group. Lots of promising talent. Not to mention the drummer played pretty much every instrument in the band. He went from drums, to bass, to keys and even sang (and a good voice to). The bass player (female) switched up to the drums as well. Made their set pretty darn interesting. Hank Pine + Lily Fawn: This has got to be the most bizzare set I've ever seen. Hank looked like a cowboy and played the standup bass with a bow, Lily dressed up like a deer (yes with antlers) and played the wood-saw with a bow as well. They had this cricket/bug sound going in the background, while Hank and Lily narrated/sang out a little story for us all. The music was soundtrack like and very moody. That was for about half their set. Then Lily switched up the kit and pounded away like nobodys business while Hank grunted out some death metal lyrics. He said "tits" so their set was cool. Immaculate Machine: Well played and entertaining. Again some pretty young musicians. The first tune was sang by the female keyboard player and came across like a Cowboy Junkies type tune. Well sung and good feel. The rest was mostly sung by the guitar player who had a pretty cool voice, kinda reminded me of the Payolas for some reason. Good energetic pop/rock I think (but I don't my genres very well...) Children of Celebrities: Damn entertaining. A buncha old dudes playing an acoustic set. A couple of guitars, a HUGE stand-up bass and a mandolin. Great sounds and almost everyone was singing. Damn funny at times becuase of their lyrics and style on stage. Gashly Crumb: Overall this was really good stuff. The singer was definitely the highlight of the band. Raw energy and solid music made for a captivating and entertaining set. Kinda sex-pistols/psychadellic furs rock/punk or something like that (again I don't know my genres). Had a sorta underground British sound I think. Very cool shit. The show didn't seem to be run very well though since every band went on late and the changeups in between were pretty long. But that is to be expected for a 6 band night while trying to limit everyone to a 20 minute set, so overall it was a great show. Oh yeah, Steve Sars MC'ing the show was fricking hilarious! Nice improv trying to keep talking while the bands set up :) - Mon, 9 Jun 2003 1:06pm
Anonymous | An interesting mix of bands, although Wooly Mammoth, who were rockin', should have played later in the night. They played first and then there was some mellow stuff and some folky stuff so it was a bit weird. Everyone was great in their own way which made the night so much fun. - Wed, 11 Jun 2003 2:07pm
Anonymous | It was fun. I liked the variety for sure. The heavier stuff was cool and the more acoustic stuff was a good breather. - Wed, 11 Jun 2003 9:57pm
Zoe | This was a really great show with lots of variety...Children of Celebrities knocked me out...they ruled the Tom Waits tribute and they keep popping up around town...hard to describe their music (roots? folky? country?) but it is different and pretty unique. - Fri, 13 Jun 2003 3:27pm
