jackass User Info... | local band Slingshot opened. Bunch of kids stoked to even get to be on the bill. Weren't that great, sounded horrible. They knew it too, were good sports about it. TAT from London, UK. http://www.tatness.com Hot chick frontwoman/singer/guitarist. British accents are sexy. They had some good songs, but the whole act was cliche. She was squanking solos all over the place, sloppy guitar. Good eye candy though. Lagwagon. Big Bitch couldn't make it over the border, probably weed related. They had Scott Shifflet (face to face bass player, brother of Chris Shifflet/Jake Jackson, ex-NUFAN, current Foo Fighter) on guitar. He learned 24 songs in less than 24 hours and he freaking ruled it. Joey wondered if his band is that lame or if Scott is that gnarly. Scott is definitely that gnarly. Apparently he played the solo in Stokin The Neighbours on the Trashed album. Anyways, first show of the tour, they were a little sloppy but played tonnes of old favorites and 2 new songs off their new EP. I would have appreciated a bit more energy, but what can you expect? They're all old geezers now. - Fri, 29 Aug 2008 12:36pm Edited: Fri, 29 Aug 2008 12:37pm
paulyhardcore User Info... | slingshot - stoked to be there - sounded pretty awful but made the most of it & had a blast up there - so it was good to see. TAT - just really didnt segue into Lagwagon very well - it was very erratic and after 3 songs i decided to go get some air. Felt kind of bad when she piped up & asked "who out there has heard of us before" chirp chirp chirp - you couldve heard a pin drop - i think 1 guy put his hand up - then sheepishly lowered it. just not my thing i guess. Lagwagon - rocked it hard -im fairly certain they played 26 songs - ill have to count up the videos - but i filmed the most part of it - only missed 1 song i think - due to some impromptu doobie smoking. opening with island of shame was fucking great. and the encore of Alien8 - know it all & Mrf Coffee was fantastic. They truly spanned their entire catalogue & shifflet killed it in place of the big bitch. isle of shame - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xY_PlqL89SQ know it all - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=igF7_7bwKzs - Fri, 29 Aug 2008 1:32pm
