jackass | All State Champion opened this show up. I didn't catch their set, but the general opinion was they were really really good. Coheed & Cambria - I just managed to get a hold of 2 songs by these guys a week before the show. Different kind of style...lots of guitar and thick bass and drum sound, with higher register type vocals (reminded me of Geddy Lee, but much better to listen to). The singer has one big ass afro. Their show was tight, but the vocals weren't loud enough. http://www.coheedandcambria.com Thrice - fuckin eggs..I'd been excited to see these guys again. Their new album has been in heavy rotation in my winamp playlist for 8 months. Their set impressed me the most...really super drumming, solid. The bass player had the best sounding bass I've heard in a band ever. Lots of vocals, hit most of the harmonies on the album, musically they were tight. The highlight of Thrice was their first song...the bass player does this tapping solo type thing. Thrice = insanely good. http://www.thrice.net Hot Water Music - what can you say about these guys? They scream talent and experience. Their set was pure emotion and energy, and they brought the rock. hwm.indiepress.com And to top it all off, it was at Dick's on Dick's, which is a great place for live music. That show kicked ass. - Wed, 30 Oct 2002 2:06pm | ||
